Btw, the "it's better than nothing" wasn't what Keiji Inafune actually said, but how his translator chose to mistranslate "I own this game and all of its problems." A lot of people have been reporting that mistake. I have this game, and while it's flawed, I do enjoy it. It scratches that platforming/combat action itch I'd forgotten I even had!
Have heard of that before; translation is tricky. Unfortunately; my only gen 8 console is the Wii U, so I can't really play this game, however going off RUclips videos, it sure is better then everyone makes it out to be.
I bought this game on the cheap just to see if it was garbage like everyone said... it's not. It's enjoyable, it's fun, it's entertaining, and challenging, and just as brutal and ruthless as any Megaman game.
It's garbage in some places. But they definetly got the bosses right, all of them. Especially the final boss. Unlike Megaman 11 they got the balls to make Trinity legitally hard
Personally I put mighty number 9 in the same category as Megaman X6, neat ideas, made with good intent but bad execution due to behind the scenes mismanagement spoiled it. Its not the worse game ever and there's definitely fun to be had, but a mix of the absolute trash fire that was the very public development of the game, and Inafune basically running away like a coward from this IP rather than trying to make a sequel on his companies own funds to fix the issues and make it up to the backers really soured everyone to MN9 and his company as a whole, it didn't help that the only high quality products that came from this game was the cross over titles with Gunvolt that was made by a different team completely.
This game definitely had it's flaws, but I still liked it, except for the final level, those cubes are terrible and the level was the reason I didn't finish the game and uninstalled it.
Let me guess, it was after you spent all your ammo on those 4 vertical placed fuckers that you had to shoot so perfectly, that the 3 above disappear while you could stand on the bottom one. Yep, I almost spent half an hour at this very place

6/10
Disagreed, the whole mechanic of dashing into the enemy as a main thing us very weird
