This conversation is absolutely awesome. So relevant to us late baby boomers in our fifties and sixties crossing over to the threshold of death and dying and what to say and what not to say and how much to care about it. Sebastian is a masterful observationist in the way he throws out a hypothetical awkward and strained social norms with ridiculous conversations. And Pete never fails to slam it right out of the park with the dopest one-liners. I think Pete is the only person that can actually make Sebastian laugh from his depth of his balls. So satisfying to listen to this conversation. It's one of those you can listen to a hundred times and still laugh your ass off. The chemistry between these two seasoned gentleman Italian Alfa's is frankly amazing. Once again a classic cast!!

I lost my husband 8 yrs ago and when I'm telling a story mentioning my "late" husband it's kind of annoying when someone gives their condolences in the middle of my story. Then I have to stop and acknowledge it. I gotcha Pete!!!
How long after your husband passes away would be a good time to no longer refer to him as "late husband"? If you marry again will you say first or continue to say late? If you don't wanna hear condolences during your story mentioning him, then don't use "late". Annoyance averted. You can just say when I was married.
I am remarried so of course I distinguish the 2 by husband and late husband. I wouldn't say first husband because I'm not divorced.

And I don't go any further than that.
If it is someone I know my words are much more deeper.

Family is always yours; dead or alive. The number of siblings, parents and kids I have won't ever change ...
My 34 year old brother died suddenly from ventricular fibrillation (we have a genetic heart problem in the family), he literally dropped dead. I also had an episode of ventricular fibrillation but fortunately my heart started again on its own and I've had 3 pacemaker defibrillators.
My brother died over 20 years ago and I always appreciate when someone says, "I'm sorry" when they hear what happened.
It doesn't matter if it was yesterday or 20 years later, I still miss my brother.
Edited to add: Once the person says they're sorry to hear that, I don't talk about it anymore. Unless I'm talking with another person who lost a loved one to V-fib due to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.

Laughed out loud in my studio by myself while watching the Pete and Sebastian show 🤣😎Watching Sebastian Maniscalco's comedy sessions preserved my sanity during the pandemic. It was the medicine that I needed then and still heals me to this day.😷🙋♀️
This was one of the best casts that I've ever seen, no grasping at straws for something to talk about. (not a put down) I saw a different side of both Pete and Sebastian. I see why Sebastian is such a great standup comedian....he wants to dig deep into the nature of the human being. He brings it to his comedy, the realism that is not always comfortable but it's real. In these casts I've always been critical of Sebastian and related more to Pete as I've related to his lack (no put down). We all have lack but Sebastian uses it, Pete hasn't learned it yet. This is why these guys are so great together....like a husband and wife, a Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, a Jackie Gleason and Art Carney, etc. You are great for each other and I love you both!

I lost a brother in 1978, stillborn, his body is in the same box as my old man (father) who died in 2019, they share a headstone or memorial stone (about 12-15 feet above ground level) at a cemetery in Italy, they had to remake the memorial stone for the new residence😅, it cost $20,000 to transport my father's body to italy. It took almost two and a half months to process the paperwork and preparations and final transport to italy, he was transported on a military plane. What's interesting is that my father had a twin brother who died on May 15th 2015, my father's body arrived at the cemetery in italy coincidentally on May 15th 2019. There are some other interesting coincidences on dates that have occured with deaths in my family, particularly my uncles overseas in Italy.

Sometimes to precede an anecdote I might say “My late mother” & continue, leaving no time for “I’m sorry. Otherwise I get asked where she lives, works etc.. It works
Another thing, if someone asks about someone that they don’t know & I say that person “passed”, they always say they’re sorry & I respond with “It’s gonna happen to us all one day” & move on

Twitches when falling asleep are very normal. It's your body trying to stop itself from falling asleep by jerking a body park. It's similar to hiccups and it's very common and not at all a sign of an underlying problem. It happens more often when you're carrying a sleep debt but can happen anytime.

45 minutes late without a phone call I would assume that you aren't coming and order my food. As for someone dying, if you ask about family members I always include my entire immediate family because they will always be with me. If you say sorry to hear that, I'm fine hearing it. If you don't say anything I'm not sure why you asked about my family. If you don't really care then don't ask. But I certainly don't worry about it after the conversation is over.
