Spring break? From an Italian household, i got a list of chores to get done before going back to school!
In our Italian household, my father gave one of us to check the food list, which was to check about 30-40 refrigerator items, if we needed it, we had to check it on the list, another list was for "critical staples list" , these items were things like toilet paper, napkins, etc, about 50 items, pain in the butt, another list was for "chores, each of us kids had chosen chores on that kist, about 50 items, including things like, "lock the car doors" , "out the lights on in the den cabinet display" crazy house man, no other like it, it was military style upbringing in the 70's-80's, though he was not in the military at the time, he was in the 50's, but he was also very strict, a very serious business man. Sprung break was stay home, go the hell outside and play was what he told us to do
Love you guys...it's like bathing in reality again listening to your stories of normal childhood the way we were all brought up in that time.👊👍

Spring break for me was…I WAS HOME ALONE during the day! Then my parents came home from work. I’d lay out in the sun with my baking sheet trying to get a tan all day & reading my magazines😂

@@willymaykit1482 yes! So sun bounces off the baking sheet ( cookie sheet, whatever) & sun hits your face. EVERYBODY did it back in the 80’s. That’s how we tanned our faces…oh, & baby oil 😂. Guess we were literally frying ourselves
@@celestialdragon3989 I've seen those foil reflector things used but never a baking sheet. I would be burnt crispy if I did that. I'm very light skinned, I get sunburned almost immediately.

If she had off from work, we’d both be out in backyard, with our cookie sheets & baby oil, radio blasting & chilling out on lawn chairs😂. Or..I was alone doing it. Great times, great start for skin cancer…which we’d not find out about for about another 20 years!

I can relate to this episode so much!!! Everybody around us goes on these extravagant family vacations that cost a fortune-year round! Big Christmas vacations, skiing, a spring break cruise, month long summer getaways, camping trips, 3 day weekend trips, concert vacations, and girls trips. It seems like this economy doesn’t have any effect on the tourism industry. Social media makes us feel we all need to be going on big trips, because everyone else is posting their fabulous trips. It makes me feel terrible we don’t vacation as much. I love not having plans and just taking a break at home. It was the same for me growing up. A break from school for a week, and in summer I’d go visit grandma for a month in Chicago. Oh, and we had summer jobs as teens too to save up for a car, which meant freedom. It’s so different now!

Totally me with Uber...the driver tells me I can have a water or a snack..I'm like "stranger danger!" Can't get out fast enough. These guys are right on with all of it..so flipping funny🤣🤣
There are videos on RUclips about what drivers do/should have for their guests like water, candy, different chargers, etc. They are trying to make guests feel comfortable and taken care of hopefully for a better tip. That's all. 🤗 Uber and Lyft drivers make alot of $$ if they do it right. They work concerts, ball games, conventions, airports etc.

We stopped at the rest stop and had a picnic! Italian sandwiches and dad taking a quick nap. My dad one time had my mom hold his dentures while he ate. She put them in a napkin and accidentally threw them in the trash with all the shit we piled in her hand. Noticed it an hour down the road! Was a quiet night from us I will tell ya and dad eating soup! Great memories. Nothing better.
