[looking discombobulated] 'I actually have very little information for you about this condition.' 😂
“It’s quite a short documentary.” 😂😂😂😂
😂😂
It’s honestly like when I run out of steam and realise I don’t know what I’m saying 5 seconds into when I start speaking at a university seminar 😂
I mean, considering that she is always asleep at the time that seems reasonable :D
Discombubobumbabulated
Her comedic timing is 👏 👏 👏 😂
I know I'm getting old and losing touch with the latest celebrity, but this woman seems absolutely charming. Always easy to watch people who seem comfortable with themselves.
She’s very new to the scene, stars in a new show on Netflix called One Day so must have been promoting it
@@user-yc3mq2wm3vyessss so good in that
@@user-yc3mq2wm3v Oh god thats where I know her from!😭😭😭
I stopped to watch this because I'm watching "One Day" on Netflix. She's playing Anne Hathaways part. I loved the movie. So this is helping me with the mini series. 😊
@@user-yc3mq2wm3v I love her in This is Going to Hurt. Tragic for her tho.
"i actually have very little information about this condition" LMAO
She’s got fantastic comedic timing
@@deerheart87 give it a rest incel
What loool fantastic comedic timing? Really!
What’s comedic timing
@@samom1440she does, she’s very funny
@@AT-eu4zucoming in with the funny at just the right moments
I remember being on a school trip and a boy on the coach was asleep with his eyes open. "Sir sir Tom's dead! He's dead sir" 🤣
A platoon-mate during my national service did that too, there were no soul or life in his eyes, it was spooky....
I have a cousin who did this. When she used to sleep over it was fascinating for us to just watch her sleep! 😂😂😂
Kkkkkk
"I sleep with my eyes open........"
That's not something you gloss over with Gandalf sitting one person down
"of course he does, of course he does! leave him alone, he's 85" michael sheen ready to throw himself into a bus for sir ian mckellen is such a mood
True😊
She is very likeable. Her story telling and humour are spot on.
best celebrity chat show, hands down! having all the guests interact freely is so much more natural and human
"One Day" is not my usual kind of genre at all but I'm considering watching it for this woman alone... Her charisma is unreal 😍
Update: I finished One Day and loved it. Now I'm moving on to another show she's in, "This is going to hurt".
She’s fantastic in it. In fact, everyone is fantastic in it. Lovely series
@@kathrynbracht8398 Good to know! I'm only a couple of episodes in but I'm hooked.
@@quietastronaut I want to see that series too - not sure where it’s streaming - what are u watching it on?
Oh sorry I thought "This is going to hurt" was the show you were talking about when you said everyone is fantastic in it 😅I believe it's on HBO for people outside of the UK
This was the best bit on the show because they kept going back to it. I already love her because of how she handled it on the couch.
I love her, so glad to see her on the couch this week! She was incredible in This Is Going To Hurt
Was t a Good serie?
I don't understand why is she not big in voice acting, her voice and pronunciation is amazing. Like butter to my ears
"not like gandalf-" 😭✋️
That was my first thought as well, before she said it. What a treat to have Ian McKellen there to reference, but he obviously hasn't rewatched the LoTR films as much as many of us have over the years 😭
Does he do in the movies, though, or only in the books? I'm not remembering it from the movies, I'm so impressed she knew
@@monmothma3358 aye, it's in the movies; in the third one, when he's gandalf the white, specificaly in the scene where pippin takes the palantir from his hands
@@monmothma3358 yeah, its kind of a plot twist for a second, cause Pippin want to get palantir and he is scared Gandalf sees him lurking, but he is just sleeping with his eyes open and snores or smth
@@kptmaci4979 Ohh that sounds familiar. Thank you!
She speaks so smoothly. Her voice is so nice to listen to.
she’s SO naturally funny!
No, I think this stuff is pre planned beforehand.
1:25 "What are we doing here?! We should be making a Channel 5 documentary?!" hahahahaha
Loved her in This is Going to Hurt. She is such a good actor. Haven’t seen her comedic chops yet so this is cool to see.
It’s called nocturnal lagophthalmos, and it is actually relatively common - estimates range from 5-20% of people sleep with their eyes at least partially open.
Yes, my daughter being one of them!
Must be in countries very far away, because I have never even seen partially opened eyes on a sleeping person ever. Up to 20% seems incredibly high. I am from Central Europe and have seen people sleeping on flights and trains all over the world, never with their eyes open.
@@Keepcalm-lovesports Did you ever think you might actually have seen people sleeping with their eyes open, but you didn’t think they were sleeping because their eyes were open? It’s just a lot more common than people realize, but don’t take my word for it, maybe look up some medical data. Most people who sleep with their eyes partially open don’t even realize it.
Yep i am one of those people, so are my mother and sister! I still laugh whenever I see them asleep, my mom's version is especially funny because you're not even sure if she's asleep until you hear the snoring 😂
And some people do it irregularly like me.
she's been waiting to use that LOTR reference FOREVER
I adore Ambika! 🤩 I'm twelve episodes into ONE DAY (2024) and it's brilliant and impactful. 💞
Yes, I loved it too. It really touched me to the core
@@oliviavillarreal2498 Very relatable, isn't it, Olivia? 🫂 I hope everyone will watch it and learn from it.
She's amazing!!
@@deerheart87 The movie was horrible, hahaha this is how I know you are lying and haven't read the books, cuz the show is way more accurate to the book.
Need to watch this. She was brilliant in "This is Going to Hurt".
Don't know who she is, but I love her and must watch everything she's done.
Watch "This is Going To Hurt". She's incredible in it.
she's got a new Netflix drama out called one day. definitely recommend.
Be forewarned that her new limited series on Netflix is a tear jerker, to say the least.
Bend it like Beckham
The Graham Norton Show, always delivers on great entertainment value!
If she ever encounters a weeping angel she'll be fine
😭
It’s true. I also have a friend who sleeps with half opened eyes. In South asia, old folks says it keeps the person away from a bad spirit or demons
Oh yes, my eyes also doesn‘t fully close while I sleep. People think I‘m trying to watch them secretly than they see it :D
where had Ambika Mod been my whole life? i loooooove her 💗
she is HILARIOUS, this is the perfect atmosphere for her 😂
I love her Soo much , so lovely and natural ,very fun sense of humor
She is not alone. My sister has this thing too. Her eyes are always half open when sleeping, exactly like Ambika in this video. No one in my my family batted an eye over this though, unlike the way everyone else in the show seemed amazed. We thought it was not very uncommon. Btw... I am from India. I wonder if this condition is somehow common among Indians.
Where has this talent been?! Cracked me up so bad 😂 *Looking up Ambika Mod*
Loved her. She is fantastic in One Day ( series ) ❤❤❤❤
I haven't seen the new Netflix thing she is in, but I have seen "This is going to Hurt" and she was fantastic in that.
i feel like that could just be another name for her "one Day" series anyway. Damn, that show makes you cry
oh my god I loved her in this is going to hurt...so happy she's getting the attention she deserves
Love her....she is amazing
She was PERFECT as Emma Morley!!!
Amazing actress 🎉
After seeing them so surprised I wonder if this is slightly more common among South Asians who tend to have really big eyes. I have a cousin who sleeps with her eyes open too. She just doesn’t have enough eyelids to cover her eyes.
it honestly could be? I am south asian and I have always been told that my eyes are big AND my eyes are never fully closed when I sleep
This has entered the pantheon of all-time Graham Norton moments, in my book
I have a cousin who sleeps like that too. As a child I was both freaked out & fascinated by it. I am of Indian origin as well. And since we’re known for having big eyes, I wonder if this “condition” affects us at a higher rate.
My sister did and now my daughter
I finished watching One Day the other day, she was amazing in it.
Widdicombe being the perfect instigator as ever lol
She is a rare talent ❤
She's great.
The medical term for sleeping with eyes open is nocturnal lagophthalmos and can stem from various health conditions. However, a person does not usually experience severe complications or damage to their eyes. But it sure can make for some laughs, especially with this crew.
Hilarious. I love this girl all the more now.
My roommate slept with his eyes open -- one time I talked to him for a while before realizing he was asleep.
1:57 Absolutely brilliant.
This is why the Graham Norton Show is the best chat show. 😂
First time i have ever heard of her and i am already obsessed
She is funny! 😂
Ian was always my favourite in chat shows, but now I’m thinking she’s great too
She’s amazing
Ambika is so funny 😂
She's a LOTR fan 😍😍😍
I sleep with my eyes open too! Can confirm the extreme dryness of eye upon waking
I LOVE Graham Norton
I do that too. So does my neice and 2 of my sons. It's kinda funny. You can see the eyes moving back and forth when we sleep sometimes.
It’s very simple. She has shown the example of her eyeballs rolling to the back of her head…yet they still keep asking if she sees anything while asleep and saying that she’s seeing her bedroom ceiling instead of dreaming. Thick skulls. 😂
We never did get to hear her story...
Pennywise LOVES this Gal!
i didn't really know about people having this condition but my dog sometimes sleeps like that and it doesn't look nearly as crazy as everyone else on the couch here seems to think haha
This blew my mind when I first heard it! 😂
Did she Gandalfsplain to Sir Ian?
I think she had to! 😅
He didn’t like it either
If so it was on him!
@@fc4660 i think he tried to remember if it was correct or not xd Its not suprising. We all probably watched lotr more times than Ian ever did xD
@@kptmaci4979 I don't think "watching" LotR would've helped. That kind of factoid was probably mentioned in the books rather than in the movies.
i'm in love
her eyes must be so dry at all times
My daughter sleeps with her eyes slightly open always has and always freaks me out lol
Michael Sheen 🤣
I'm the same. I have to have complete darkness. However, I do remember my dreams vividly.
I love that they all (particularly Widdicombe) desperately want to make endless clever jokes about it, but they're so genuinely curious they just keep asking informational questions.
I learned to do that in high school civics class
She’s great in One Day🔥
she is sooo cute
I sleep with my eyes open as well. So does my mom and one of my aunts. Because my eyes are huuuuge and round, they don’t really close fully and I have really dry eyes when I get up in the morning. My roommate saw me sleeping with my eyes open once and she thought I was possessed lol
My niece sleep with her eyes half open sometimes too, but I think it's because she was always trying to fight sleep. We know when she's tired because she rocks back and forth aggressively with her eyes already in the back of her head so i guess it just stays there, but when she is alone watching tv or by herself she sleeps normally.
I never knew people could never remember their dreams. Mine are so vivid. I don't remember them all, but I do most
When I wake up I can remember bits and pieces and especially the end but after a while I've forgotten and I think that's true of most people. It'd be amazing if I could remember the whole thing though.
SAME if I'm not dreaming consistently I actually feel like something is wrong lol.
Mine are too. Yes, it's been "a thing" since humans were humans... It's called dream amnesia. It's not that people aren't dreaming (it's impossible to not dream), we just forget our dreams when we wake up or just before...
if you try to remember them after you get up, you will. Its practice. If you dont learn it, or dont practice it, you will most often forget them right after getting up.
I dream every single night and I remember probably 95% of my dreams because they’re so vivid. Sometimes it’s exhausting.
I remember Mark Ruffalo whenever I see that guy.
Girls over 12😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was an extra in One Day and got to meet Ambika while I was on set:
Ambika: Excuse me?
Me: Yes
Ambika: No, excuse me
I was standing in front of her water bottle and I moved out of the way.
I didn’t say it was an interesting meeting…
my grandmother did this. but simultaneous to the eyes half open she would breathe through her mouth and would produce a sort of low ooooooooooo noise punctuated by inhalation, exhalation. spooky old woman.
She is not the only one who sleeps with her eyes open. I've done it my whole life. Creeps my friends out. 😂
My partner does this exact thing!!
My brother has always done this! He’s asleep but his eyelids are open and his eyes are half rolled in the back of his head. We forgot to warn his wife and she woke up in the night and thought he was dead 😂
I sleep the exact same way… I’m available next week to come talk about…
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I need to hear more about this!!! Somebody, please get cracking on the documentary! What is this sleepuation???
she is ambika mod who plays emma morley in one day on netflix, she's very cool and funny, she is a comedian and actress
I sleep with my eyes open from time to time. At one point, my Dad looked in on me before work and said my eyes were wide open. He got mad at me for staying up so late. I was asleep. I have vivid dreams too. Creeps people out. My dog also sleeps with his eyes open.
i do it all the time in class
To be fair, this time "Everyone loses it" wasn't clickbait, they couldn't talk about anything else and I don't blame them.
I also sleep with my eyes partially open, just just the most inner lid bits. An eye doctor showed me a photo of myself with when I thought my eyes were fully closed and they were not! I was denied Lasik for it, become they were too dry. But apparently they're not anymore! Lasik next month!
I do this too! I'm told it's not very obvious, though, my eyes are only slightly cracked open
ahh i wanna watch the full episode now but it's nowhere on youtube yet :(
My cousin sleeps with his eyes half open and it’s the wildest thing I’ve ever seen in person
I just read about her condition, it's called "nocturnal lagophthalmos". People usually sleep with their eyes open due to an issue relating to the facial muscles, nerves, or skin around the eyelids. About 20% of people do it, including babies.. that's a lot more than I thought 😅
My brother sleeps with his eyes open, has since he was a kid. When he was young, he said his friend's mom actually stopped the car as they were driving to their house (he also always falls asleep if he is in the backseat of a car on a trip), and opened the back door, and he popped awake. And he says she said "Oh thank God, you're alive!" It is a little disconcerting seeing him sit/ lie there with his eyes mostly rolled up to whites, snoring.
she’d be amazing against the weeping angels
Who is she? This was very funny and off the cuff bc it wasn’t even the story she intended to tell, just the beginning of it then they went off on this tangent.
My cat used to do that, which was fine. It was the whiney noise he made every time he did it that freaked me out.
Oh my God 😂😂😂
She's adorable if not a little creepy...well when sleeping.
My best friend slept like that when we were kids 😂
