I absolutely adore Olivia Colman. Back when I was an 'entertainment journalist', basically, my job was interviewing actors, directors, screenwriters etc.; in fact some of the biggest film and TV stars of the time. Never, through all those years, did I ever meet someone as honest, open and natural as Ms Colman off-screen. Not one ounce of pretence, false modesty; indeed, no false character traits at all, nor was there the slightest hint of an 'actor's persona' that so many stars bring out when they are being interviewed about their work. I didn't see her being herself until after I'd finished watching all her episodes of 'The Crown'. I was totally gobsmacked by the sudden realisation that Olivia was such a fantastic actor. The character of QEII being light years away from her 'real' self. It instantly brought to mind the sequence in 'The Crown' where she complains to her husband that she was physically unable to cry when visiting a coal mining town after a deadly disaster. Olivia wears her 'heart on her sleeve' when not working. She so richly deserves all the awards and accolades she has earned. Her 'Letters Live' appearances are also simply brilliant. I'd pay money to watch her 'act' the phone book. Thank you so much for this video. Bill H.
I think she is one of the few actresses which is loved by whole Hollywood. When she is on stage I see literally everyone in the audiance laughing and thinking "Oh my gosh, is she cuuuuute."
She takes the words "adorable",endearing","darling" and "hilarious" to a level beyond the reach of almost any other mortal, past or present.I just love her,you know? Has anyone seen her episode on Who Do You Think You Are? Crying as she reads a letter written by an ancestress several generations back, describing the pain she felt on being parted from her children.
She’s so lovely and full of joy! I remember seeing her years ago and always had the feeling she would become a great actress, given the right parts, and she has!! I’m so pleased for her! She seems like a decent person too.
She's a delight. A talented, funny, warm, charming, and beautiful bundle of joy. Thank you to every director and producer who contributed to her becoming internationally famous.
Sadly, I'd only just learned of the existence of her magnificence in the recent film, "The Lost Daughter". Olivia captured me from her first scenes, and I need to watch all she's ever been in! She's incredible!
She's a UK comedy legend, I was so pleased when she suddenly became a movie star! That Mitchell and Webb Look was my favourite..... Her reactions to Richard Ayoade's book in that Graeme Norton interview were gold!
What if she's just not. She's just professional. Like this as a person, all wild and joyful and scatterbrained, but fully focussed and able to use her profound memory skills in her work. No need to posit anything else.
Olivia & David/Helena have such great chemistry honestly Both of the pairs feel like they're always having a great time when they're around each other, and that is precious :3
I think if she got up and did a short acceptance speech and got off stage, everyone there would be disappointed. It’s like finding out your favorite show got cancelled mid season.
I’ve not actually seen Olivia in a movie, only on Graham Norton and acceptance speeches, she’s hilarious and natural, says dumb things occasionally, hahaha she very sweet! I love her! 🤩

Olivia Coleman is SO BAD at being a "movie-star" ... because she's clearly far too grounded, normal, modest and overall unimpressed with the idea of stardom.

Yes there is a big difference between being a movie star and an actor/actress.
I didn’t realise how hilarious Olivia is just by being herself, I actually had tears rolling down my face from laughing!! This video was brilliant, loved every second of it!!
she is so natural and unaffected by her success. Many other actors the world over could emulate her and stop being so full of their own sense of self importance. Shows what a good actor she is because she is terrible at interviews and those acceptance speeches, cringe worthy. I cannot understand half of what she says. But when she acts she is outstanding.
Possibly the most honest and underrated actress of modern times. Beautiful, witty and a bit daft. Superb.
Olivia and David should have a show where they just sit and chat. I would totally watch it. I love them both.
I feel like David could do that show with many of his past co-stars. I'd definitely watch.
@@kineticpsi Yes that would be good. Also David and Catherine Tate together are hilarious.
