Back when these bands had platinum albums, hit singles, MTV videos and sold-out arena tours. Nowadays, nobody gives two shits about them anymore. My God, how the mighty have fallen! Radio and MTV won't touch them, big record labels want nothing to do with them, most people have forgotten about them, and if they're still touring, they'll be lucky to sell out a club or theater. This music was once the soundtrack of my youth for God's sake! It's too damn depressing to think about!
Check out the underground Glam bands and bands of other genres! The east coast is probably the strongest now, they have music on Spotify and the streaming platforms as well as RUclips, look up Wildstreet, Python, Enemy, and who could forget Steel Panther?
@@justice_productions_ Steal Panther, although a great group, are (intentional) caricatures of 80s glam band. They allow us to remember how cheesy that era was (albeit those bands did have some good songs).
The Skid Row with Ace Frehley interview with Adam Curry was the moment when I realized I was all rock n roll. Very transformative for a young girl..... and still am full on rock n roll. How about you????
What's the most painful about some of these bands was the fact that they had just signed contacts before the grunge era. Such bright futures over before they began. Then again,, some sabotaged their own success. What a hell of a time to be alive. Oh and you wanna hear some 💩??? My first lead guitarist/vocalist, Jacob Bunton, from Birmingham Alabama is now front man for most of these guys solo projects. Adler, Mick Marrs, Cinderella, etc. His band lynam toured with most as well. Asshole, lol. I love my buddy.
Ronnie Keel turned his back on rock and went country.......saying it was who he really was all along......and then when that didn't work, he reformed Keel - a band that sucked to begin with. Total POSEUR.

Back when heavy bands went platinum, hat hit singles, videos all over MTV and sold-out stadium tours. Now, nobody gives a shit, and these bands either faded into obscurity or can't even sell out a small club. It's sad how far the mighty have fallen.

I grew up in the 80’s and liked a lot of the glam metal bands but man some of them were seriously ridiculous. By the end of the 80’s and early 90’s it got so overblown and cheesy that I’m kind of glad that the Seattle scene wiped some of that stuff away. That being said, a lot of the 80’s bands released some great stuff in the 90’s. A lot of the grunge bands made these 80’s bands rethink some of the songs they were writing and made them go into a bit of a heavier direction. I do miss the fun times of the 80’s though. Those were some great times:)

+Plache88, Mitch Molloy tried country, too, but found it way to creatively restricting. His one country album sounded like standard pop, with a little country crossover flavor.
The whole LA scene seems like they copied van halen thats why they seemed like gods and everything is so easy cause they just do and the rest copy and catch up. New York Dolls influence too
It's it so hard to call it 80s heavy metal or rock n roll? Why degrade it with the stupid "hair metal" label invented by 90s assholes to make fun of it? Do people know calling it "hair bands" is an insult?

That depressing moment you realize that guys will never be that sexy anymore 😭😭😭😭
True.. 😭 And I'm 23 years old girl.
We are going to age btw, all of us
True, I'm 17! All the men were hot back then.
A lot of them still are! Bobbie Brown Jani's ex is sexier now than when she was in her 20s
Slash is still sexy
