The dark door adds depth to this house.
Thanks Frances! We totally agree. The white really frames up the entryway way more than it did before. Plus it just makes sense with the dark window awnings as well. Glad you like the transformation!
I have a home from the 1950's. I can take the door off its hinges in less than a minute. I would put it on saw horses and refinish it that way myself. A lot easier in my opinion. I will definitely purchase this product.
If I have a dark green door do I need to prime it before painting?
Hey Amy, shouldn't need to prime as the Tone Coat acts as a primer and will cover most colors. I will say that you might want to grab an extra can of the Tone Coat just in case you need to do a couple of coats to fully cover the green. Usually just one will do it, but depending upon how dark that green is, two might be the best measure to make sure it's covered. Hopefully that helps ☺️
Would not recommend getting paint inside the screws of the door hinges. If you ever decide to change the door, the dried paint will make it nearly impossible to get a screwdriver in there. Would have to use a box cutter to scrape the paint out of the screws.
Cory, thank you for that feedback. I know some people prefer to keep the doors on when painting and some take them off. I am sorry you experienced this though.
I’m painting a brand new steel primed front exterior door. Since it’s primed I don’t need to paint it before using your products, right?
Hey Olga, you are correct! The only caveat would be if you have a really dark colored, or black door. But even then, you would just need extra Tone Coat to make sue the surface is completely covered. Otherwise, you are good to go! Cheers ☺️
I have a brand new steel door what do you recommend for first base coat white latex ?
I’m painting the door red cedar
@@lorihase4178 Hey there! you will want to use a water based material specific or all purpose primer. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out!
will you have white oak soon?
Hey Samantha. What a great idea! We hadn't thought of white oak, but we will definitely put that into consideration. Cheers 😊
Where can I purchase a Mitt? My kit didn't come with one.
Hey Michelle, I am so sorry you didn't get a Mitt with your kit. If you wouldn't;t mind taking a moment and emailing us as info@gianigranite.com, we can get you one at not cost. Our customer support team may ask you to send pictures of the kit, but they'll get it all sorted out for you. Cheers!
Nice job. I am going to paint the inside basement door so it looks richer.
Sherry, good to hear. Give us a shout if you need any help!
Will one kit cover both sides of the door?
Hey Cardfan! The kit only covers one side. We include enough for the sidelights if you have them, but I would definitely recommend 2 kits if you want to do both inside and outside of your door. Cheers!
@@GianiGranite Thanks and I do have side lights so thats good news. Now if we could get a couple days with no rain in the forecast
@@cardfan9652 if only the weather would cooperate with all of our projects! Utopia ☺️
