The Breaking maneuver was done only with the aerodynamic Brake (Blade Pitch). The Disc Brake would probably do this job once or twice, before you have to change the whole Brake System 😄 i saw it Once, the Disk (app. 250kg Steel) was glowing yellow after just 10 Seconds.
@@saasch_baasch Just curious, how do you replace the brake disc safely? I'm guessing the turbine needs to be stopped to do this, does this happen by feathering the blades or is there another mechanism to keep the turbine from spinning while its being worked on?
If you want to change the brake disc, stop the system by feathering the blades. The rotor can then be blocked on the slow speed shaft (in front of the gearbox) with one or more bolts, so that the gearbox output will definitely not rotate.
@@TheWindigomonster Turbines always have a system to mechanically lock the rotor in place with pins or bolts. This would be used to replace the brake or to access the hub.
The static friction is still very small compared to the torque by the Rotor after pitching in. Those Turbines don't need energy to turn the Rotor on start, they just need it to supply Pitch, Yaw, Control- and other auxiliary Systems.
Takes a lot of persuasion to think this is actually true. Does a wind chime in the wind need an initial impulse from you to start? Just take a look at my video "Do wind turnbines startup on their own?". it takes just wind and a tiny bit of Power for the auxiliary systems to start them.
I can just imagine this maintenance guy either squinting at the device until it gets damaged and sends him plummeting to his death, or works just fine and gets him paid money.

*This is your captain speaking, we have reached a safe altitude of two hundred feet and thank you for flying Green air.*
I think that’s higher than 200 feet. Great comment all the same.
Awesome! You can almost feel the power.
Yes they are some EMF's being transmitted of the generator alright
The blades outside are like : IM SO FLY IM SO CHILL
And inside is a whole another story.
I am also confuse
@@tahaparvez7314 ikr 🤣👍🏻
@@tahaparvez7314 he's talking about the gear ratio.
Love that sound !!!
not if you live nearby
@@spiceworks5704 you can't hear from the ground, that's not a plane like. And also the sound is way fainter on the direct drives
@@RafaGmod I guess my ears deceive me then. Thanks.
Dang. It sounds like a boeing 737.
Sound like jet engine right

WOOW This wonderful Wind turbines motor spinning up sounds. I love Wind Turbines. Please more more such very longer videos
Wow! That is cool.
Wow awsome ❤
Holy cow that brake had to have gotten hot.

The just by altering the pitch of the blades is enought to start or it uses a litter power from the grid to break the static friction?

Just like the Boeing Jetfoil gas turbine startup
Uhhhh, this sounds like more a jet turbine than a wind turbine
that's what it sounds like with all those gears!
Good old WTCC.

takes a lot of diesel oil to start a green energy wind turbine.

You should hire a professional camera shaker, you're not doing a good enough job. We can ALMOST see something.
