The big question remaining unanswered is, if Charles De Gaul was supposed to be commanding the French Tank regiment attacking the Germans supply lines, how the hell did he get on a ship at Dunkirk? Then spent the rest of the war being a pain in the butt, whilst hiding in the French house! Thousands of BEF troops were killed or captured fighting the rear action yet thousands of French troops were evacuated from their own country. If they had been captured, the French troops were released after France surrendered. Then we had to destroy the French ships in North Africa because they would not surrender. Finally, De Gaul had to be persuaded to make the speech telling the French not to resist the Allies on D day and beyond. We should have interned the arrogant coward and occupied France as well as Germany, at least we wouldn't have had the EU or the latest French git causing us problems.

Is that “falling short” against equal opposition? Your statement is so inaccurate it’s ridiculous. Even during the Battle of France in WWII, possibly her most embarrassing defeat that is surely all you based your argument off of, France’s army was one of the most formidable in Europe and more than capable at the time of toughing it out against the German Wermacht, with outdated tactics and incompetent generals being the decisive factors behind her defeat and eventual surrender (it was a defeat THEN a surrender… you people always forget that). Meanwhile Britain has never had a proper foothold in Europe (and guess who was stopping her… France!). You must be French...never got over Waterloo. Dunkirk wasn't good for us Brits, but instead of capitulation like French did in first 5 mins of war we regrouped, along with allies, went back and fought. Eventually winning, and freeing the French from occupation, thereby allowing President De Gaulle to go back from cowardly hiding in London to France. UK king and Queen refused to hide in Canada but to stay with their peoples. Neither world wars have covered the French in glory, maybe, we should not have gone back and bailed French out...wouldnt have the pains in the arse have now.

Then why was Cornwallis such a sissy when Lafayette threw him out of Redoubt #10, thus banishing the Brits from North America forever? Mmmmm, sure am enjoying all this free gold, timber, petroleum, and farmland. Too bad you lost all that....

And look how you’ve squandered and abused those resources, causing pollution and damage to the landscape. Just one example: surface coal mining in the Appalachians has led to the destruction of around 500 mountain tops, the clearance of over a million acres of forest, the loss or degradation of over 12,000 miles of streams important to the watershed, not to mention the health implications for local residents and the miners.

@@neilfoddering921 Yes but see we HAVE 12,000 miles of streams. And much, much more besides. So easy to criticize one's rich relatives for not appreciating their caviar and Rolexes, when all I have is "pudding" whatever that is. And BTW you're welcome for solving the recent Hitler business for you.

It's so refreshing to watch racism and bigotry disguised by a thin viel of comedy. It's perfectly defensible as "tongue in cheek" and "sticking it to the politically correct". I just wish we had Bernard Manning or Jim Davidson here, who openly spouted their hatred and fuelled it amongst the audience. Comedy is a fantastic way to slip in fascism and Al does it so well.

😂😂 Do you actually have any idea who Al Murray really is? He has a masters in history from Oxford university. He is very left wing and well spoken in real life and has his own liberal political party.
This character "the pub landlord" is a total act and satire.
      It's called comedy, it's ironic!!

@@harrymail7 No, I had no idea who he was. In that case he either plays a fantastic character, unrecognisable from a right wing comedian and I was naturally fooled, or he does a useless impression and I'm a total tool for falling for it.Which one would you prefer?
