  • I finally gave in and bought the Osprey Kamber 22 ski backpack so thought I'd film a review! I'm a big fan of Osprey packs, and the Kamber 22 didn't disappoint during my week in Mayrhofen at the start of 2020 (pre-lockdown world!).
Tough, durable and filled with glove-friendly pockets, the Osprey Kamber 22 has been on the market for a few years, but is still one of the best ski backpacks out there.

Hi, nice video, really useful! 😊 I noticed that the name of the backpack is written a little different than the pictures on Amazon (all in caps and different font), is this a new version? 😊

Hey Melissa, the Kamber 22 backpack has been on the market for the past 4 years, so it's probably had a few updates over that time. I got this one in October 2020, so it should be the most recent version 😊👍🏼

How do you compare this with Mammut? i.e. Mammut Nirvana or Spindrift? I tried Opsrey but didn't like so many things about it: no quick access for ski skins, camera, trekking poles etc. Also, on the 22L version, it's impossible to open any of the compartments without unmounting your skies. The 32L has a better design but still lacks a lot of necessary features. Also the hip belt pouch zippers are very inconvenient to zip/unzip due to the curve in the wrong direction. If you check Mammut Spindrift you'll see what I mean. The curve should be reversed!

Hey Ash, I like the Mammut Spindrift...very similar packs with similar characteristics. Agree, no quick access, but I don't mind that. Anything small that I need when on skis can usually fit in a jacket pocket, or the top goggle pocket (it's rare I ski alone, so a friend helps usually). Not sure what you mean about the hip pockets...they look very similar. I can only speak of the Osprey Kamber 22, and I've not had an issue with them...even on a tight ski lift. Much of a muchness, but let me know what you go for!

@@mrheyes Thanks, Simon. I ended up with Soelden 22. Still not perfect but Osprey has fixed almost 80% of what I mentioned about it. I mean the pockets on the hip belt. The curve is downwards which makes it difficult to zip/unzip. Mammut has them designed properly. Thanks for the great review anyway. It helped me a lot.
