      It's no one else curious if it had enough room to store your snow shoes while descending the summit?

      Wildly Intrepid it was excellent for trekking up Kilimanjaro. The weight was not a problem. I didnt know what to expect from the Kilimanjaro weather so I wanted a pack that could handle the snow and ice of the summit. I used the M/L sized pack even though I'm 5'6" tall.

      @@WildlyIntrepid
      Well I'm up North in Qc so that's a yes by default ;-)
      I was at MEC over the weekend and the Kamber 32 caught my eye as I've been looking for a more "civilian" looking replacement for my Karrimor Sabre 45.
      I liked the Kamber 32 because the back support is similar to the larger Vaude Skarvan backpack. This type of frame espouses the back better than the other Osprey mesh type frames or the flat padded support on my Karrimor. I didn't mind the smaller 32l size until I did a little research after watching your review and found out that the Kamber also comes in a 45 l size and in black.
      Sports-wise I use my Karrimor to stow my snorkeling gear on trips to the Caribbean so the option of having a separate section for wet clothes / gear on the Kamber is a bonus.
      For Winter sports the 45l Kamber could probably also fit a pair of wet skates plus crazy carpets on the sides, etc...all of this makes it a versatile all-season, all-purpose bag.
      It ticks off a lot of the requirements on my list for a new backpack so it made it to my Christmas list.

    • @WildlyIntrepid
      @WildlyIntrepid  4 года назад

      Sounds like you have really done your research. We have never been disappointed with osprey packs. We have mainly used the Kamber for snowboarding and love it with the different compartments and comfort. Where do you go snorkelling mostly in the Caribbean? Any recommendations? We are heading that way slowly with our sailboat right now. Never thought of using the separation for snorkel gear but love the idea.

    Hi and thanks for the review. From your video seems that the snowboard strap and the side straps are controlled by the same tightening system? instead of being two different straps/buckles. Correct? Imagine you have to carry snowshoes (where you installed the snowboard) and skipoles on the side: are you able to tighten them separately? thanks

    • @WildlyIntrepid
      @WildlyIntrepid  4 года назад

      I feel like you could tighten the bottom ones separately and top ones were the same buckle. But I'm not 100% sure because I don't have my backpack with me on the sailboat. Sorry about that.

    hey there ! i had a question about the sizes. Is there a big difference between the S/M and M/L ? what would you recommand for a normal sized man (5''11 and 170 lbs)

    • @WildlyIntrepid
      @WildlyIntrepid  6 лет назад +1

      Hey Nicolas, glad to hear you're considering the Osprey Kamber 32. I am a female 5'7" 130 lbs and the small fits great (torso 17.5"). I haven't tried the M/L and don't know if there's a huge difference. On the Osprey website they say that up until 18" you should get the S/M, from 19" to 20" either or, and 21" and up M/L. Here's the link to the sizing chart www.osprey.com/ca/en/product/kamber-32-KAMBER32.html
      In the process of making an edit of a 4 day backcountry riding trip in Western Newfoundland in which I used that backpack. And I loved my Kamber 32.

    I have two loves, Hiking and skiing, would this bag be good for both? I love the look and size of this bag and the fact that it can hold skies but i'm nervous about it being too hot in the summer when hiking? Do you have an option on a bag that would be maybe good for both? or can you swap the back out for a mesh in the summer?

    • @WildlyIntrepid
      @WildlyIntrepid  3 года назад

      Good passions. The back is part of the backpack that's kind of it's design. If you don't really like this style you're probably better off getting two different styles of bags. I personally only use it in the winter but it should be fine for summer. All my hiking and trekking bags have this style of back, no mesh. I find that the mesh/ air flow space between your back and bag just puts the weight further away from your back and isn't that comfortable so I tend to stay away from those.

    Great review!
    I'm considering getting either this or the Kamber 22 to carry an electric skateboard and for general travel use with the family. I have a few questions if you don't mind:
    - Those ski side pockets. Do you think they can also be used to carry water bottles or are they too small/shallow?
    - Is this pack small enough to be used as an airline carry-on pack?
    - Can you stow the helmet while carrying a board or will the helmet be in the way?
    - Is there sufficient space in the water bladder compartment to carry a laptop?
    - Do the shoulder and hip harness wick sweat or will this be an issue for warm weather travels?
    Thanks so much!

    • @WildlyIntrepid
      @WildlyIntrepid  5 лет назад

      Hi Ernest.
      I'm glad you enjoyed the review. I love this pack and have mainly used it in the winter but I think you shouldn't have trouble with it in warm weather. Where are you going to be using it? I've only used the kamber 32 so space wise I'm unfamiliar with its smaller twin. A laptop would fit in the 32.
      The side pockets are actually only loops so not good for water bottles as they would slide right through.
      It'd be a perfect carry-on size for most airlines but always double check with the specific one you'd be flying with.
      I have carried both my helmet and board at the same time without any trouble.
      I have no regrets with this bag. What kind of skateboard do you have?

    • @ErnestRamos
      @ErnestRamos 5 лет назад

      Wildly Intrepid thanks for the reply! I really appreciate the info.
      I'm from the Philippines so it will see lots of tropical weather. I do have other packs as backups (I used mainly Gregory packs) for really warm weather but none of them are capable of carrying a board.
      I just purchased a Boosted Board Mini S hence my quest for a board carrying backpack. It's roughly 76cm long and 6.8kg.
      There are a number of skateboard pack choices but none of them come with a hipbelt. Once you get spoiled by technical packs with proper suspension systems and harnesses it's hard to go back to normal backpacks. 😁

      @@ErnestRamos I know once you taste good packs you can't go back. Have fun with your board. Where in the Philippines are you? We traveled there 3 years ago and absolutely loved it. • @abdolreza82
    @abdolreza82 3 года назад

    It's not a serious backpack and has a very outdated design. No quick access pockets for ski skins, a camera, a selfi stick, trekking poles. The 22L and 16L versions are designed even worst. At this price point, one should expect FidLock buckles on the chest and on the waist. Check out Mammut or Black Diamond. They come in smaller sizes that are actually usable! I own a couple Osprey backpacks and none of them are designed for the serious adventurer.

    • @WildlyIntrepid

      I personally really enjoy everyone of my osprey packs. We all have certain preference and adventure styles. I guess that's why there are so many different brands and designs out there.
