Hoping Christina reads this: my cholesterol was high, too. I tweaked my diet but did start doing a lot of walking. I walk three miles a day at home with an exercise program ( Leslie Sansone is the BEST!) or, I go to some nearby parks and walk there when the weather is good. I highly encourage you to start an exercise program, and walking is easy and can be fun with the right music. My cholesterol went down and I lost weight. You can do this!

Christina, My husband lowered his cholesterol a lot by taking Red Yeast Rice. He didn’t want to go down the rabbit hole of taking a bunch of medications so he looked into natural options. His doc agreed with it. It comes in capsules. He eats well and exercises every day but it’s mostly hereditary for him and this has worked well. I just thought I would share! Look into it! Good luck! ❤

Christina, I had high cholesterol too. Around 300. I started taking a statin drug which lowered the LDL to 130-ish. Then I found out high cholesterol runs in my family so my dr prescribed a drug for people where it may be an inherited condition. Wow. My cholesterol has been 73 for LDL and 70 for HDL for 5 years now. Thought I would mention that sometimes it has nothing to do with the food you eat.
Yes! Unfortunately both my parents have high cholesterol as well. My doctor did mention diet and exercise may not be enough. Thank you though for sharing that with me. ❤️

Our brain needs cholesterol. Because of your love of skincare products, look at the ingredients that you are using on your neck. That is right over your thyroid gland. Because it is going on your skin, those chemicals are being absorbed. Look into Milk Thistle for your liver too. It’s essential for detoxing. Love the show !!

Great content as always! Christina - on your cholesterol... sometimes it can be linked to thyroid function. I have hyperthyroid Graves disease, and while I used to have to be on medication to regulate it, my levels are now within 'normal' ranges, but my cholesterol level is still affected, even though I eat very clean and exercise quite a bit. Just something to consider :)

@@MommiesMakeupAndMoscato thyroid malfunction is HIGHLY under/mis-diagnosed in women. There is not a lot of known knowledge about how they thyroid literally affects every.single.function. of your body (literaly - it does - from your mental health to your fingernails) - they just know that it does but don't really know how to fix it other than wanting to remove it, which for many people doesn't solve the problem. My best advice is to listen to your body and your gut instincts and if you know you're feeling crappy don't take no for an answer from a doctor.
@lisamiller . My son was diagnosed with graves hypothyroidism at 24 . You are so right it’s under diagnosed and affects so many things.
@@colleendavis8934 where's that 'care' emoji when you need it?! I know what it's like to deal with thyroid issues, and it's no walk in the park... 'they' literally know a thimblefull of information in the ocean of information that is thyroid function. I hope your son's thyroid function has been leveled out and he's doing well.
Christina, if your cholesterol goes up, it can be a sign of thyroid dysfunction and it can also be perimenopause which screws with your metabolism and makes you more insulin resistant.
It can also be related to low carb diets and low bmi, esp since you lost weight. You should check out Nick Norwitz and look up the recently published Oreo cookie vs statin study.

try psyllium fiber. it helps to bind to cholesterol in the gut so it’s not absorbed into the body.
