Ay thanks. That was pretty easy.
I only had a problem which sometimes it said "Rebooting is taking too long" or some stuff like that, but I just needed to try again a few times and it worked anyway.
Awesome! I'm glad I was able to help!! It's such a good system to hack. I love having the whole library on it
when connecting my nes i got an error that it can NOT be hacked :(
I added a bunch of ROMS to my (official) NES Classic Edition a couple years ago. However, I noticed lately that it shuts down in the middle of me trying to play it. Sometimes it shuts down after around 30 minutes and sometimes it shuts down after around only 3 minutes. This absolutely sucks. Has anyone else run into this annoying problem. Does anyone know why this keeps happening? Does anyone know how to fix this issue?? Thanks.
How many games did you install?
A very large amount.
@@trackmastersdj I believe the NES classic only has the internal space available to run 60-80 games properly depending on their file size and save space needed. I've had a total of 64 games on mine since early 18' and it runs just fine.
@@HotSauceX05 How many additional roms/games can be added to the device on top of the already included ones for it to work properly? How can I remove excess roms/games? Thanks.
@@trackmastersdj I would start out with adding no more than 30-40 games to the 30 already installed. You can add more if the system is handling them ok. I'm assuming you used hakchi, if you did, reconnect your system to your PC as if you were adding the games, drop down the kernel box and unclick the games you want to uninstall or delete from it.
This video was really helpful and quick question is there a site you get your roms off of specifically
Thank you! I can't say the exact sites but if you Google "NES ROMS" the first few sites work great
@@UltimusPrime figured it out and uploaded 200 games this video was a great help 🤘🤘
I am thinking about if I should put in more games on my NES Classic Mini, SNES Classic Mini and Mega Drive Mini or not.
I want to play all the games that I played as kid plus some more, so around 66 more NES games, both of the other hand I want my classic mini consoles be original and not mod it.
But if I do it I don't want to have folders with my games in, I want it to look so original as possible.
Great tutorial! I did everything you did, BUT BETTER!! Fun fact: Each save takes up 2 MB of space, so since you wanted to put 700 games on yours, you don't have 1400 MB of space for saves! LOL!! You can save about 85 games with the space you have left over (171 MB free according to the video). So why not use that space for more games since you can't save EVERYTHING??
What I did was I Googled what games come on the SNES Mini, the Genesis Mini, the TurboGrafx Mini, etc, and I put all those games on mine, and some of my personal favorites, and it worked!! Now I have like several minis all in one unit! Over 500 games from several different systems! And still plenty of space for saves!
Now my NES Minis has nothing but the BEST games instead of a bunch of trash games you're not going to play! Hope this helps!
Nice! Personalized for you. I did other videos of adding other systems and games. This one was just strictly about adding NES games.
OP can this be done on a MacBook?
Hi! I purchased a separate data specific cable but when I plug it in (while holding reset with power button already pressed) the light does not flash but stays solid orange and computer says “waiting for device”. I’ve tried the whole process several times. Any advice?
Im having a super hard time getting rom hacks like pokemon and mario games to run on the snes & no one has any videos on how to do this😅
ruclips.net/video/qnQbZWCWOfQ/видео.html this video on my channel is for adding more systems on the the NES classic. It's almost the exact same process.
@UltimusPrime I've added the roms to my snes aswell as the rom hacks. But the rom hacks just won't load, whereas the official games do from all consoles.
I'm trying to run some mario rom hacks, genisis & nes homebrews and some super mario world hacks but they don't load when I try to run them on my snes.
A video specifically around homebrews & rom hacks would be wonderful
Hmm OK I'll add that to my list and see what I can come up with!
@UltimusPrime thanks! There are some absolutely phenomenal homebrew games for the NES, SNES & Sega genisis that are just mind blowing & I'm excited to give them a try lol
Where do i go to get the games/roms?
You can find any ROMs you need by googling "NES ROMs" then the first few sites will be your best option.
It says that file not compatible with your max computer
Why doesn't need user account control
I tried putting in Game Boy Advance games on the NES mini, but no room with the GB/GBC games on there. Any help on that?
The system itself doesn't have a lot of internal space. I would have to look in to how to use external storage for that.
@@UltimusPrime Well, I only put in he GB/GBC instead. Maybe I'll put the GBA games in another SNES mini?
2:36 In this part there is an error and the game does not start
Have you tried a different rom. I didn't have any issues at this point on any of the units I've modded.
Hello. How about the game genie codes
Hi! That's a good question. I think on most ROMs, you can use cheat codes but I'll have to try it on my system and see if I can
Hey man I don’t know how I can reset everything back to factory game and do it again 😢
Let's say I try to hack my NES Classic and something goes wrong, or I just don't like it. Is there a way to go back to its original state? Will selecting "reset to factory settings" erase everything and put it back to its original state? Is there another method? Or once I try to hack it, that's it..... I'm fully commited?
With modding there is always a risk of bricking your systems but I have not found any errors using hakchi. If you ever have any issues, you can connect the system to your PC again and choose restore on the hakchi program and it will reset to original state.
@@UltimusPrime is that the proper way to "reset" the NES classic? Would going into the console and finding the "reset to factory settings" button work as well after modifying it?
@@brianbecker1180 I haven't tried it that way but there is no reason it wouldn't work for you
Nope. Doesn't work for me ☹️.
what's the file size limit for added games for nes mini internal storage?
The console itself has 512 MB internal. Asyou add the games, it shows on the bottom right corner you space. Just have to remember that the save files you create take up this space also
@@UltimusPrime But what's the file size limit of games you can put in before you can leave enough storage for the save states? When I got up to 150MB I got a error message.
What if the games are all in separate zip filles
I'm pretty sure it reads the zip files also but I can't 100% remember. It won't harm the system to try it
I don't what I'm doing wrong I'm on a Apple Mac mini not sure if it would work with it or not
I have not tried it on a Mac before. I have always used a PC. There might be something that needs to happen to let you use the Mac. Would have to do a little research.
@@UltimusPrime I used my brother Windows PC but I guess I need to erase it all again because I downloaded some fake ROMS do you know how I can erase all the Roms?
@@ProphetRay you can use Hakchi to restore you system back to original state and start it over again.
The data cable I got with console
Is hdmi to hdmi
I need to order the hdmi to USB
Your console should have came with the USB cable for power to your system. That's the data cable used in this video.
Hi. Can I do this on a macbook or pc only?
I haven't tried it on a MacBook so I am not too sure. Sorry
Stuck at the waiting for your mini pop up. Doing the power button reset plug in thing doesnt work.
Did you end up figuring out what was wrong? I'm not sure why it's not allowing you to complete it
@@UltimusPrime yeah I figured it out. Turns out the instructions shown were actually for the sega mini. Turns out I had to hold reset plug it in and press power I think.
Will you mod my system if I pay you and pay for the shipping?
That's a hard one! I live in Canada and shipping is rough! I would do it but it would be costly for you unfortunately :(
@@UltimusPrime what u think it will cost? I am serious
@@jimmyhossen4976he teaches you to do it on the videos. Did you not watch it?
I was able to play SNES games on my NES mini too but after resetting the nes mini and installing the games again now I can only play the NES games and not the SNES 😡
Did you set up the folders before putting the games on? Maybe the SNES games are not selected in Hakchi?
Where do I download the games from plz.
Easiest way is to just google what system you want and ROMs. That will bring up sites and the first few are usually the best ones
@@UltimusPrime Thanks bro i found one thats works xD
What rom do i need to get?
Rom? Rom would be whatever game you want to put on it to play. The games are referred to as ROMs.
Ok best website to get the games?
I can't find the file with all the ROMS. Mine didn't pop up when I did everything
Unfortunately this doesn't come with the ROMs. You can google ROMs and get them fairly easily. I just can't post a link.
@@UltimusPrime Thanks for the advice. I'll try to put more games when I feel comfortable about doing it.
Edit: It worked
Which console version is this? There was one in 2016 one in 2018.
The one I'm modding in this video is the 2016 model.
@@UltimusPrime ok and trying to figure out which console is best overall. I’m interested in an NES mini HDMI with SD function. Every time I search on Google or AliExpress I get matching results but lack of details.
@@Simpsons01111 the knockoffs mini consoles with SD support are very buggy. I’d stick with the official 2016 or 2018 (no difference when it comes to hackchi2 or with emulation performance) consoles from Nintendo that don’t have SD support. You don’t need SD since the NES mini can fit the full game library.
If you want more systems and more games than it can hold and want to add external storage, you can use some hacks that utilize an OTG cable and usb drive. You can modify the system to hide all of those elements internally so it looks unmodded and doesn’t have a bunch of adapter cables sticking out of it.
You can also hide the hakchi2 boot screen and disable that god-awful menu music.
@@remy333 ok and which do you recommend? The 2016 or 2018?
where are the 700 games coming from?
Google "NES ROMs" and you will find them
I can’t find the games
Games are the tricky part to find. If you google enough, you will find sites that will provide ROMs.
This video is accurate up until the folder with the games. There's no nes mini2 folder. The only folder is games for Sega.
Doesn't include the links to get the roms, who let this guy on YT?
lol I can't share that link due to guidelines. These tutorials are for playing backups for games you already own. If you google the types of roms you are looking for, the first bunch of links all have the roms you are looking for.
How do the modded games look on a modern tv?
They look great. The games that come on the system originally are rom versions also so the quality of putting your own Roms on is just the same.
U literally didnt even tell us what to push. Why is every tutorial not a tutorial and awful its so frustrating
What are you referring to when you say push? I state every time you need to "click" on something when on your PC and I also state what to "push" and what to 'hold" on the system. There is nothing else you need to "push" ? Please let me know what you need help with.
