I really enjoyed how energetic and interesting he made his video. I have ADD and I so badly want to learn how to do neat stuff like this, but its hard to pay attention sometimes when most videos on modding/repairing are a bit boring.
Desoldering is a job of skill. The track got lifted because of too much heat for too long, or there was a tiny amount of solder still present when pulling the chip out. The best advice is don't let the iron dwell too long on the pin. Wiggle the pin forward a bit also when sucking so solder doesn't stay behind the pin. The best thing you can do is buy a vacuum desolder tool such as the Hakko FR-301. For all the years I lifted pads, or couldn't get parts out, that was the best money I ever spent on a tool.
i finally get my soldering skills up to the task and grow the confidence to do this... and they discontinue the board... i want to apply this mod to one of those new repro NES kits and make a custom case, but my dreams have been dashed before they ever had the chance to fly.
Hey. Are you the one who narrates the Disney cartoons? You sound the same. With that narrative I was focused on what you did step by step, without blinking an eye.😳
I'm finally installing my Hi-Def NES (glad I got one when I did) with my NESessity and new components so I've been brushing up on all the install videos I've come across to make absolutely sure I don't miss anything. Glad I don't have to bother with the old 7805 when using the Hi-Def NES. Just another source of heat I'd rather not worry about. I also chuckle at how effective Punch-Out! is for a benchmark of controller & input lag with these different systems and mods. Seeing it done in an older video is what sold me on the Hi-Def NES.
would this type of operation work for fish finders? I would like to add hdmi to older fishfinders, can you tell me where would be the best place to get information like this?
They don't make them anymore unfortunately, and running non PAL games on a PAL system will make them run too slow, but disabling the lockout chip should allow you to do it.
I cant believe there no more of this mods.. even tho the page says they have to get revised because of the discontinued chips.. It really dont look like hell be making any more..
What makes you say that? Any solid evidence that the redesign to use easier to get parts is actually not going to happen? Either way, you can still easily get NES RGB mod by tim worthington. Install that, and a multi out and you have a plethora of options (some worse than others) including the seemingly harder to get (these days) Rad 2X cables that work with any nintendo system featuring the multi out which has an RGB signal.
@@brandonkick I'm just saying.. I'm pretty sure he'll make something in the future again. But if his projects with analogue are more important. I just dont see it happening. The only way I see him coming back to it is if he is not making enough money on the other side.. just my opinion.

This video was sweet I’d love to see more like it 👍

wow you moded your nes and beat Mike Tyson...someone needs to get an award for such skills! cheers!
We'd settle for something small, like the Nobel Peace Prize or something...
How does this channel not have well over a 100K+ subscribers???
That is a question I’d like an answer to.
An English video where Guiz talks? Preposterous!
Guiz can talk. It's Qarl who's more on the quiet side.

I would like to know how much you do that work for my NES?

Gotta love what you have done here, just wondering if by any chance you know how to do an adapter/signal to use the 3DS on the TV
what are the pop up rails for the cpu and ppu 'quick releases' called? (not for mod purposes, to be used for diagnostic purposes on a test nes)
