If there are two countries in Europe that I'm sure will be fine in the long run - they are Poland and Hungary. We've been through some deep s***t together throughout our over a thousand year old history (which included losing sovereignty by both our countries) and ultimately always bounced back. I know the name from Market Garden, but Stanislaw Mazcek was a very populair guy. I'm born and raised in Stadskanaal (which was like most of Groningen and Drenthe liberated by the Polish), and you can find there easily a reminder. There is a General Mazcek Square, other cities in the Netherlands have also streets with his name. In Breda there is a General Mazcek Museum, so we never forget how important the Polish people were back in the day.
I am german, my boyfriend is polish. I agree with everything you've said about my country and it's people - one day we will have children and we've already agreed on them being taught polish, so that if the situation here keeps getting worse, they will have a place to go. I'm currently doing my best to teach myself and be taught by his family as well, since by now, I have no problem leaving germany and it's many problems behind. This is no longer mycountry, it's theirs now.

Ja spotkałem osobiście jedną Niemkę - Doro Pesch (była wokalistka Warlock). Piękna laska, i bardzo miła. Zamieniliśmy parę słów po koncercie, i dała mi autograf. Pracowałem też z dwiema Niemkami tu w USA, to były szkarady, natomiast córka właściciela fabryki, (też Niemcy), była dosyć ładna. Pozdrowionka.

both of my grandparents went to a secret school while Poland didn't exist on the map. If they found out, my grandparents would have went to concentration camps, but thankfully that didn't happen. It was also punishable to speak polish, but they still did. My grandparents weren't the only ones who attended this stuff, it was NORMAL. They learned through old books, and it worked. I don't know who you are responding to as that post was deleted but I'm guessing you list Polish patriots of non Polish, or not fully Polish descent. I'd add two prominent figures from history - a son of French napoleonic soldier Karol Levittoux - a conspirator who burned himself in the cell in Russian prison fearing he might reveal some information during interrogation, and general Władysław Jabłonowski. Jabłonowski's name and surname might be misleading but in fact he was son of an English countess and her African butler. He was adopted by Konstanty Jabłonowski and later in life considered himself (and rightly so) Polish. He fought during Kościuszko's insurrection. On a side note his official (sic!) nickname was "Little Negro" (Pol: "Murzynek") which I personally find adorable :-)
I am Vietnamese and I totally support the Polish people. There are TENS OF THOUSANDS of Vietnamese living in beautiful Polska with businesses and homes. So that proves that Polish people are very generous and open minded.
I met some women married to Vietnamese men and they are very happy with this marriage :) I think that Vietnamese ppl should be generosly invited in Poland. I'm happy to see non-violent emigration live there between us. We are not such backward as they want us too be viewed.

Poland is a great country, I have visited three times. Twice for medical care and once for dental - absolutely brilliant. And their citizens work like hell here in the UK, they are a good people.
I was put on a six month waiting list for a gastroscopy on the NHS. I got it for £54 in Krakow, plus a pre and post consultation with the doctor. Dental treatment is cheap and every bit as good as that you will get anywhere else. Flights are very cheap using Ryanair from Stansted Airport, London. (book on Ryanair website, not through an agency). Bus from the airport into Krakow, about £1.

I know the name from Market Garden, but Stanislaw Mazcek was a very populair guy. I'm born and raised in Stadskanaal (which was like most of Groningen and Drenthe liberated by the Polish), and you can find there easily a reminder. There is a General Mazcek Square, other cities in the Netherlands have also streets with his name. In Breda there is a General Mazcek Museum, so we never forget how important the Polish people were back in the day.

I am german, my boyfriend is polish. I agree with everything you've said about my country and it's people - one day we will have children and we've already agreed on them being taught polish, so that if the situation here keeps getting worse, they will have a place to go. I'm currently doing my best to teach myself and be taught by his family as well, since by now, I have no problem leaving germany and it's many problems behind. This is no longer mycountry, it's theirs now.
You're welcome here in Poland! I have very limited contact with my cousins from Germany as their German father wasn't as tolerate as you are and he didn't agree to them being taught Polish. Then he left them anyway.

Pracowałem też z dwiema Niemkami tu w USA, to były szkarady, natomiast córka właściciela fabryki, (też Niemcy), była dosyć ładna. Pozdrowionka.

I don't know who you are responding to as that post was deleted but I'm guessing you list Polish patriots of non Polish, or not fully Polish descent. I'd add two prominent figures from history - a son of French napoleonic soldier Karol Levittoux - a conspirator who burned himself in the cell in Russian prison fearing he might reveal some information during interrogation, and general Władysław Jabłonowski. Jabłonowski's name and surname might be misleading but in fact he was son of an English countess and her African butler. He was adopted by Konstanty Jabłonowski and later in life considered himself (and rightly so) Polish. He fought during Kościuszko's insurrection. On a side note his official (sic!) nickname was "Little Negro" (Pol: "Murzynek") which I personally find adorable :-)

I am Vietnamese and I totally support the Polish people. There are TENS OF THOUSANDS of Vietnamese living in beautiful Polska with businesses and homes. So that proves that Polish people are very generous and open minded.
I met some women married to Vietnamese men and they are very happy with this marriage :) I think that Vietnamese ppl should be generosly invited in Poland. I'm happy to see non-violent emigration live there between us. We are not such backward as they want us too be viewed.

Poland is a great country, I have visited three times. Twice for medical care and once for dental - absolutely brilliant. And their citizens work like hell here in the UK, they are a good people.

I was put on a six month waiting list for a gastroscopy on the NHS. I got it for £54 in Krakow, plus a pre and post consultation with the doctor. Dental treatment is cheap and every bit as good as that you will get anywhere else. Flights are very cheap using Ryanair from Stansted Airport, London. (book on Ryanair website, not through an agency). Bus from the airport into Krakow, about £1.

There are plenty of stories that even surpass the cavalry charge myth. You should read about the Polish air force pilots who performed extremely well during the invasion despite flying planes that were technologically obsolete.
