Shawn Bassett's time attack Skyline is destined for Pikes Peak and he's brought it to the track for a full shakedown. The editing of this video was superb. Well done! No weird transitions, shots were clean, music choice was nice and you could actually hear the car, which is very important to us cargirls and guys. Rob you're smashing it aswell! So happy for everyone!
I honestly thought the music was way too loud at a couple of instances. Other than that, I completely agree: great video.
Yeah agreed. Minimize the stupid techno music to transitions. I was trying to hear the exhaust but couldn’t other than at a few points. Rob is great. Car is awesome.

I'm glad they picked Rob for this series. He's the perfect type of ultimate car geek to explain and share the passion of the lesser known side of automotive engineering, the stuff you will never see in the mainstream media otherwise
This is my best friend's car... he spared no expense on the build. Chris is a perfectionist at anything he does. I built him a Jeep Rubicon a few years back and it was built the same way. Open checkbook and nothing but the best. Mad props to him on this build. This has been his dream car since we were kids!
Once again, an excellently shot video… even though it was a little in the darker side, this series always delivers. Rob’s giddiness and genuine love of the automobiles he’s review is so genuine and refreshing compared to the cold and very cookie cutter of ALL other car reviews on the web. His personality and genuine excitement make this series next level!
Robs genuine passion and enthusiasm for all things cars is so palpable, sometimes presenters can some across as just playing to the camera with this level of enthusiasm but not rob

I've always been a huge fan of inline 6 cylinders. Some of the world's greats have had them: Supra, M3, Z cars... man... amazing engines!

Piston engines tend to be a bit more reliable, and the RB can be straight up beaten on and just keeps coming back for more!

I normally don't like JDM cars due to the hype/fanboys and culture around them. But I love and respect the guys that Slice these amazing cars and make something that actually bites and has a purpose.

What an awesome build and awesome video production too.
Just one thing I don’t quite understand, as owning a skyline Gtr myself, I definitely was able to make the car oil surge with all the usual wet sump mods, with no aero rather than the factory r34 “aero” that the v spec and v spec II’s come with.
Now I know for a fact if you’re able to make lateral 1g cornering force that is able to make your oil creep 45 degrees as to try to climb out the pan as such.
And I have personally lost 2 engines too this. I definitely always had further aero development on the horizon but before any of that I had to lay the groundwork with a dry sump. But all that downforce and a wet sump on a Gtr just makes me nervous.
None the less I see you guys will upgrade I just don’t understand why it wasn’t done initially, definitely would be less work and cheaper I mean considering this is an all out track car, dry sump isn’t even a question from the word go no ?
Ps I need that front tower strut brace that ties into the firewall ! That’s a thing of beauty 🤩

No aero was used in the making of this video. Great track, but the FIRM is not a fast enough track to really utilize aero. Ask me how I know…my track built/full aero GT350R has the mustang lap record there.
Either way, awesome build and great to see my local track getting featured!

I think we should probably touch on the fact that this Sean guy didn’t build this car at all.
The aero components such as the carbon fenders etc maybe but mechanically this car was built by a shop in Oregon called Magic Garage buy a guy named Gary.
Want to buy cars and take credit for a build? Circus material right there.Just my two cents.
I understand how rob feels i spent countless hours on my car the been in another that just fitted better finished better. It almost hurt but worth the drive to get my own done.

Another great episode from Rob. On the production side, the music volume is mixed a little too loud especially around @6:20. The point is to hear Rob & the car, not some crappy open source EDM.
