Nice reaction Alexa. Its a bit odd seeing these in 'production' order, this one is episode 6 on the DVD collection. The way the ship is launched at the start is a homage to Andersons first space adventure, Fireball XL5. In that show, the ship is launched the same way.

Hello again Alexa i am very glad you enjoyed Episode four of "New Captain Scarlet". Yes you are right Destiny does have a much more prominent role in this version that was the intention of the Producers from the start. The Mercury Shuttle horizontal launch is a deliberate homage to" Fireball XL5" a much earlier Gerry Anderson Series where the hero craft in that show was launched in exactly the same way.
Sometimes in the background in the Skybase control centre, you can spot Lieutenant Green's console flashing an Engineering emergency warning even if all is quiet. xD The warning was a graphic they used in the opening episodes and they just kept re-using it throughout the series for some reason. It's kind of fun to try and spot it whenever possible. It's like everyone on the show is just actively ignoring the Skybase check engine light or something.
The spaceship launch is deliberately homaging "Fireball XL5" (although one feature from that ship would've been useful in this situation), one improvement in this series was the banter and character interaction giving this series more depth. Captain Copper over and out!
