  • Kol Rinah, the Jewish Chorale of Westchester, sings Tzipor Shniya (A Second Bird), by Misha Segal and Nathan Zach, arranged by David Morse. Our conductor is Benjamin Gruder. Recorded live at Congregation Sons of Israel, Briarcliff Manor on June 16, 2024.
    Lyrics and translation:
    Ra'iti tzipor rabat yofi,
    Hatzipor ro'ata oti.
    Tzipor rabat yofi kazot lo er'eh od
    Ad yom mati.
    Avar oti az retet shel shemesh,
    Amarti milim she shalom.
    Milim she'amarti emesh
    Lo amar ad hayom.
    I saw a bird of great beauty,
    The bird has seen me.
    A bird of such great beauty I shall not see again
    Until the day of my death.
    Then a quiver of sunlight passed through me;
    I have spoken words of peace.
    The words I said last evening,
    I shall not say again today.
