As someone who also was sent to study abroad by myself (albeit at 16 so i wasn't quite as young) I really appreciate your insight on Q16! I definitely feel like I am not grateful enough to my parents who gave up so much and afforded me the option to pursue what I want to pursue and live a life i want to live. So thank you for that :D
I'm also looking to move to Vancouver. do you mind if you can do a video, if you think its also of interest for others, and describe the different areas in Vancouver, like Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey, Coquitlam, Vancouver DT etc etc. Thank you!
Vancouver housing prices is a combination of foreigners, locals speculation housing, increased land costs and home build costs, permit costs and multi years wait and other factors combined together. You don't park expensive cars in areas like Chinatown, East Hastings where you have greater chance it would get damaged. Fentanyl drug overdoses caused a lot of deaths which is both imported by gangs and also your everyday people once drugs were commercialized globally via e-commerce. Most street drugs are mixed vs. 15 years ago when it was mainly addiction. UBC risk is getting drugs slipped into your drink at LGBT scene and frat parties by drug sellers. Once you are addicted, they make money off you via involuntary sampling. Dorms are also an issue but those are grey market stuff like marijuana before it was legalized. The third is prescription drugs when students who don't have ADHD use ADHD medication to improve their cramming during exams. Pharmacy is a stable career path but you have to be comfortable doing the same thing or people start to find it boring or difficult physically standing or walking 6-8 hours a day. The salary is low 6 figures already starting high with minimal advancement and has not increased much over the past decade. Higher cost of living is a global phenomenon with most major cities seeing increases in addition to economic immigration and war migrants and refugees as the world gets more chaotic with more regional conflicts or persecutions. Great interview overall.
I was in Vancouver for 3 years and i would have love to be your friend if i had meet your channel sooner 🥲. I didn't lack friends, but they were all French like me. So we often only hung out among ourselves and I always wanted to join other groups to share things with them or just one person, but I couldn't figure out how to approach you 👉👈.
