Man, I was there, 16 years old. This video does not do it justice at all. It was complete chaos!! People were standing on the roof of the bathrooms, climbing the fences, security had no control. It was just wild. Good ole days for real! I’m 40 now 😂
I would still go back and be there if I could. I woulda been like 14, and my mom only took me to see Kiss etc. yknow. Because the 80’s are all that mattered. Thank goodness in 2023 the malfunctioning Tom clone was destroyed by the aliens and the real Tom was finally allowed to stay home.

The 90s were a different time in so many ways, more then they were the same. The last age before the net, cel phones, and social media really took over and growing up then we were the last generation to have that. Waiting for a music video to premiere on tv... hanging by the corded phone for a call, or being out with your friends with no connections to anything or anyone else what so ever and being in that moment only....it's more than nostalgia.
I don't want to ever get that old😢

I keep looking for myself but we all looked the same in 99. What a show. Less Than Jake, Eminem, and The Living End were great too. What a year for warped tour.

@@rileyk5228 unfortunately they were trying to distance themselves from Scott as early and as much as possible. Us old heads will never forget Chesire Cat and DUDE RANCH. To me, that IS Blink 182. I really enjoy Travis and the new music but I can separate the 2 as entirely different bands.

Mark's bass sounds so damn good, I miss these days so much sometimes.
A big mistake a lot of bass players do is try to sound as low as possible. Nobody can hear it. Bass guitar sounds so much better when it fills the mids that the guitars have scooped.
@@jarredhooperbass is for the feel. Live you can feel the bass + hear it. Bc of frequency it’s hard to hear with headphones. Given the right sound system you’ll hear it. If you have a trained ear you can hear the bass in the mix normally. But yes I agree bc most cant identify the bass in a mix.

Blink sounds the best they've sounded live in years.
Mark used to play musicman stingrays then moved to Fender precisions around recording Enema of the state, producer Jerry Finn preferred the tone of the fender bass and how it sits in the mix.
I saw them later this year in November on their headlining tour w silver chair at 13 years old. Ugh take me back.

Mark Tom & Travis show vibes for sure **shout out cameraman, this is back when you weren’t allowed to video or photo during concerts, notice NOBODY else is recording, you had to be stealth as it was frowned upon/prohibited. Good times everybody was fully present and nobody trying to get a selfie

Oh man, I miss those days when we all just had fun; stage diving, crowd surfing, instead of holding up our cell phones, capturing videos to post on social media to show off we were at the concert.
Yet if not for this one guy we wouldn't be able to watch this. Us kids today will be able to look back and while we won't remember being there we can go back and be there again any time

I saw them at the warped tour the year before and they were on the second stage and they were one of the first bands performing because I remember hearing them as I was walking in. They exploded in popularity within a year. Significant because it shows just how big they got during this time

Every band, regardless of status, played short sets on Warped. Set times also varied each day, i.e., Blink might have played 2pm one day and 8pm the next.
@@CopperBlue28that’s ridiculous. People probably only bought tickets bc blink was there. To get a 20 min set is a rip off. They were huge at the time and should’ve had the 8pm slot every day

I was there, one hell of a show, I was 17. Pennywise, the Vandals, Dropkick Murphys, Less Than Jake, Eminem, MIKE, and The Living End-great time. Travis gave me a bumper sticker that said “ I ❤️ Orgasms.”
