      There's no point trying to find English food in Luton as you'd have to go to an English town for that. (Just in case you're not aware, despite many towns being geographically located on English land, they couldn't be further from being an actual English town.)
      In fact, to be accurate, you should really remove the English flag fron your past few titles as many would see it as an insult to use it when the content of all your England videos has such little relation to anything English.
      There's plenty of stunning English places and people to enjoy so it's a shame you've missed out on experiencing England. You should really consider visiting actual England at some point to soak in the culture as much of the modern world you are used to is based off it so it's very interesting.

    • @ersatz-feign
      @ersatz-feign Месяц назад

      @@franklopez7585 - I can see why you might say that, but it ultimately boils down to several factors to determine which is actually better. Take the US for example, approximately ¾ of everything available on their shelves is classified as 'ultra-processed,' which is just crazy. Sure it may taste nicer but it's killing you. That's the complete opposite compared to England which has some of the best food standards in the world, with a belief that the more natural, the better. Also and unlike most cultures that use insane amounts of salt to give all their dishes flavour despite it being so unhealthy, we have a culture of typically using absolute minimal salt, instead providing salt separately to the person eating so that they can decide themselves how much they would like to use based on their own taste and health factors. So, those not accustomed to our culture might proclaim that the food is 'bland,' completely naive to how much of a detrimental effect their own food is having on their health
      Compared to many peoples, the English are incredibly welcoming to other cultures and so of course, you're going to see that reflected in the cuisine selection, but that's obviously not British food. One key issue is that whenever one watches or reads reviews of British food, almost every single time they are reviewing extremely sub-par versions. Try those foods done right and it's impossible not to love them. Amongst those with a sophisticated palate, expertly made British food is highly regarded and globally recognised as up there at the top - easily on par with the best food from other countries (proven by the endless awards.) We have many of the best chefs in the world and that isn't by mistake.

      I've lived here 40 years worked in childcare, adult education. Charity work for health. Social inclusion. We have nice big parks stock wood park and wardown park. Both have good museums. Luton history goes back to iron age. We have university major hospital, cinema. There are many other parks green spaces in Luton. Regular community festivals. We have good transport.. Motorway airport. Trains. Bus station. It has become a transit town which has caused difficulties. Also over the years there has been a change in the once traditional automotive industries and related industries. Every one gets on together, we work well together for a caring and inclusive society. As you go out of town you have the Luton inspire swimming and sports centre.. Used in Olympics. The problem with the football ground is not unique.... I orinally come from Southampton and till fairly recently the football ground there had same problem.... Being built many many many years ago and the victorian building around it. Sizes growth of population not being anticipated. Then.. As Luton was big hat making centre. Then car making and heavy industry. Back then Luton, Southampton, were welicated and sufficient. The problem has been for both towns to find new space to build and expand.... For both there was/is issues of old inner town industrial sites balancing with requirements for green space and facilities, transport, homes. The new home for Luton fc has been in negotiations and planning developments for several years and approaching finalisation so should be new site should be developed relatively soon. The old site in Oak Road will become a new community park. I like my town of Luton and it's people.

      I flew from Luton to Warsaw, when I came back it felt like I was in the 3rd world. The guy in Luton airport Costa spoke worse English than the girl in the Costa in Warsaw airport, barely intelligible. Same for the woman checking tickets for Nat Ex coaches outside, she actually got snotty because I (native Brit) could barely understand her. Walked out the door and it was strew with litter, disgusting, full of unhappy rude people. The road was used as a pavement with some kind of dirty marquee walkway cover thing, as the pavement was in disrepair. I had zero interest in seeing any more of Luton.

    I was brought up there and regularly attended Kenilworth Road in the late 60s/70s. It was a great place to be. Car factories, lots of work and a PROPER market where the Arndale monstrosity is now. The shops in George street and the streets off it, were varied and many. The circus used to come into town and the Elephants etc paraded through the town, and walked up Farley hill to Stockwood park. The town centre was lively (occasionally violently so!) at the weekends with pubs all the way From the Clarence next to the Town Hall all the way down to the Blacksmiths in Park Street. A pub crawl and a half, as was High Town. It's sad to see what it has become. Taylors Estate agents is one of the few of the old pieces of architecture left.

It has many schools, a university, libraries, a hospital. It has a mall, it's not like an American mall with an amusement/entertainment area (it used to have an amusement/entertainment area near McDonald's) but it's fit for purpose. There is the Galaxy centre. Life is relatively cheaper compared to London. It has a diverse community and celebrates its diversity with annual carnivals. I've been to far worse places.

    I was just watching this for interest in seeing another part of the UK when all of a sudden you go to the pub after leaving the train station and I hear you say "I'm from Miami" - WHAT? - I'm Miami born & bred. No wonder you sounded so familiar! It's a blue-sky Sunday afternoon (you posted this 2 weeks ago), 88°F out (weather report says "Feels like 98°"), classic Miami in July. 😎Jeez, now I have to subscribe to your channel and watch the rest of your videos!

    13:13 that used to be an old railway bridge - the town used to have 3 railway lines going through it. That ended in the 60s, they kept the old rusting bridges for another 40 years...

    Many shops are open,people have money to spend.
    Council have spent money on the landscaping etc.
    Looks really good compared to many other towns about.
    Go to the deprived council estates of Milton Keynes for a real slum view & crime issues!

    Cool video. I lived in the USA for quite a few years as a green card resident in Sunnyvale and Mountain View, California, the silicon valley. I came back to the UK, Luton. I lived here before I had moved to the USA. I wish I had seen Miami. I miss the Mexican food from California. Have fun with your vacations etc.
