    I'm on my 5th year with my PG24DLX from Camp Chef. ($499) I added an upper cooking shelf and the thermal blanket, as well as a better controller. Looks like those things have all been addressed on this new model. I always use an A-Maze-in smoke tray on the bottom shelf to add smoke flavor. This new system for adding flavor wood is going to rock!

    I wish my WW36 had this on it. unfortunately it is only two years old so no upgrade in the near future for me. that added smoke profile option has got to be amazing! the brisket video looks amazing and the review I saw from Jeremy sold me. Aside from the box, the other huge plus is that insulated lid! I ruined the magnets on my CC blanket. Having an insulated lid would be awesome. Those casters all the way around are awesome as well!

      I'll add it to the list! I'll tell you right now though that the Woodwind Pro is the clear winner. You're paying so much for the name when you go with Traeger, and no pellet grill on the market outside of Camp Chef can match the flavor of the Pro. It has no competition in that area.

  • @michaelholder7358
    @michaelholder7358 Год назад +2

    thank you for the review. as far as what I would like to see covered in a review is the basics of smoking temps to searing possibilities. Cold smoke options which you touched on. I want a smoker that I can cold smoke cheese, fish, bacon or other items, and the option of searing a steak after a quick smoke, so basic operating temps. Pizza ovens are nice, but if it is not wood fired then it is no different than the oven IMO. Just a list of possibilities would be helpful, also the size of the grill and what it will hold and smoke. I know from my experience that top shelf is typically better for a long smoke for a brisket vs the bottom shelf.

    A larger wheel option would be something which is needed. Those tiny caster wheels look useless on soft ground. Also, Camp Chef should incorporate the same sliding sear (direct flame) option like they do when they make Cabela's Pro series pellet grills. That would make this grill perfect IMHO. Not sure why you characterize this as "more advanced". Pellet smokers are hardly advanced, I mean you add pellets, set the temp and cook. If adding chunks of wood to a burner sitting over the firebox constitutes "more advanced" then maybe you're better off ordering take-away

      I misspoke during the video. I meant to say what Susie did afterwards when she corrected me. Growing pains!
      I meant, it's great for the advanced griller and beginners to grow into.

    That girl sure interrupts a lot. Wonder how many shelves are in the cooking area.

    I've already burnt my thumb once on reloading the fire box. It was so worth it when I pulled that perfectly smoked Brisket 16 HOURS LATER
