- In this video, I discuss the true value behind the NBA's most commonly used strategy known as the 2 for 1. I go into depth on why this strategy may or may not be worth it in the overall statistics.

What do yall think? Is the 2 for 1 actually worth it?
Honestly it’s just like you said it’s depends on shot quality
Depends on the shots that are being taken tbh
Nah definitely not always
@@Kio2kmcoc yeah
@@ridgewada3807 yeah pretty much
Super cool stats bro nice video
Thanks bro appreciate it
Hella cool concept bro W vid
Thanks bro
Nice video overall, but one question about your methodology. Your first criteria for a 2 for 1 is that Team 1 must have shot between 39-25 seconds. While this scenario might be a 2 for 1 most times, what's critical about these scenarios is the shot clock. A team making a shot with 30 seconds left in the quarter is only a 2 for 1 if there is more than 6 seconds on the shot clock, otherwise they had to shoot it before the shot clock expired anyway. What makes a 2 for 1 is when a team could have let the game clock run below 24 seconds, but chooses to take a shot before that instead. Did you consider this at all?
ahh you're right i guess I just wasn't thinking about it that way. It was kinda hard for me to turn the 2 for 1 into a general time statistic since it varies a lot
Can shot quality be tracked by how contested a player was while shooting? or perhaps distance on a 3 pointer (like in the Jokic example)
I guess it could be, but there are also occasions where players will launch a steph curry range three which technically is open but still a bad shot
@@Swish2430 i mentioned that, I just called it a Jokic 3. They track the distance of every NBA shot, and they call shots over half court "heaves"
@@smdickinson8316 ahh gotcha
