Hello Jonny, I've grown: Jen's tangerine (a very large cherry) tomato, this one is from french mountains. Also orange banana (a plum) tomato. Both are very high yielding. The seeds are from real seeds. They also do a Czech B___st tomato (not put full name because it could get delete?) which I have not tried but is a family heirloom, bred by botanist AV Fric.
Thanks for the recommendations 👍 I have grown a yellow banana before but not an orange - the yellow was a bit bland but maybe the orange is better. I’ll check out the others 🙂
Not grown any of these but they are on a 'best tasting' list I made while trawling tomato message boards and seed shops. For older varieties - Lillian's Yellow Heirloom, Orange Strawberry, Yoder's German Yellow, Orange Minsk, Moonglow, Earl of Edgecomb, Yellow Brandywine (Platfoot Strain). Some newer varieties - Sweet Sue, Casey's Pure Yellow, Sweet Ozark Orange, Uluru Ochre, Orange Jazz.
Thanks every so much for that list - there are some great looking tomatoes there and several that look just like my sort of thing - I may well be trying one of these next season 👍😊
I have a few new ones I’m going to try next year (Orange Cream, Copper River and Captain Lucky) because it’s the fun of trying new things I like about gardening. We prefer large ones grilled and cherry tomatoes in salads. Thank you for sharing it’s always good to know what they taste like 👍👍. Have a great week 🐝 safe
They sound interesting - I haven't heard of any of them, so had to look them up - Copper River looks particularly fine. My sort of tomato I would think, but all a bit modern for me 😂
That is ever so kind of you. I only have room for one or two orange sorts (I recently ordered 13 Italian varieties so I'm running out of space already!) so I think I will try one of the old heirlooms, but I do appreciate the offer very much, thank you 👍👍😊😊
I grow Orange Wellington every year mostly because they add colour to a tomato salad and are nice roasted but this year they taste quite different -a much stronger flavour with more acidity. I wonder if this is due to the high temperatures?
I don't know whether you deal with any seed companies on this side of the pond Jonny, but since moving here I get most of my seeds through a company called Baker Creek, all their seeds are heirloom and open pollinated, not that I've ever grown any of the the yellow or orange varieties myself, but may be worth a glance and they do ship internationally I believe..
Thanks for the tip 👍🙂 I have come across them as they have lots of the sort of varieties I like, but haven’t tried to order from them. I will see what they have...
@@jonnyskitchengarden Hi, I have just ordered from Baker Creek as I've heard some excellent feedback on them. Does take a while to come to the UK so have ordered ready for next year, fingers crossed.

One you should try, Marianna's Peace, one of the very best tomatoes I've tried.
That one looks very tempting - thanks! :)

That's interesting - I expect the weather is responsible. We certainly haven't been short of sunlight and warmth this season!

I’d be interested to hear how long it takes 👍🙂
@@jonnyskitchengarden Will let you know when they arrive 😋
Have you ever grown a plum lemon tomato?
No - I had to look it up! Is it any good?
