i was saying that tf5 was a disappointing game, especially compared to the genesis series. even if the prerendered visuals were the same quality (not as good as blazing star), they still could have made a sequel worthy of following tf3 and 4

Imagine this game at the early days of the Neo-Geo hardware. That was late 80's! I mean, its the same hardware right? So it could be possible in a way. Anyway, i have never seen any other hardware improving its graphics as much as the Neo-Geo did.
I think they give you temporary immunity to enemy fire. Or maybe just the lowest form. It definitely doesn't protect against enemy ships, the ground or bosses.

How do you get the Lucky "Y" panel at the 3:rd stage? Spent tons on money on this game back in 1998 and never managed to get that "Y", and you did´nt either. Is it a bug?
Um, it's a highly advanced life form that LOOKS like a baby...either that, or the guy was related to the guy that made the final boss of Mother 3/EarthBound. I heard that guy made that boss after allegedly seeing a woman being raped in a theater in Tokyo as a child. The kid should have gotten a pair and beat the crap out of the jerk that hurt the lady. I know that I would have done that to him if I was there and that is a fact. I NEVER backed down from a fight and others ALWAYS back down.

@Hagkvist79 The last would appear before the boss' core shot loose and then attached to start the real boss fight. My bet is that the player was too fast to get it loose and activate the boss. Wait for a moment and the Y panel will come.
