In regards to pyramiding, I believe humidity also has a lot to do with it. Soaking the babies daily goes a long way to keeping a smooth shell as well as sustaining humidity in their enclosures. I loved seeing your little stars wandering around in the grass. I could watch that all day long. They’re just precious.

My baby leopard tortoise I got 3 months ago still has the red dot the breeder painted on the shell. Kinda wearing off now thankfully.
Yes it will eventually wear off, I wouldn’t try to brush it off or anything. Hope the little leopard tortoise is doing well!
One of my baby stars blows bubbles very rarely only after being in water, I figure this is normal because he probably just breathed a little bit in?
If it only happens right after soaking it’s probably ok, I’d keep an eye on it.
