Hi, I have a baby Sulcata tortoise and planning to keep her inside for now. Can you provide tips on the type of uvb/heat lamps I should have and how long they need to be on? I recently purchased a 3 in 1 solar glo beam but I’m not sure if this needs to be on all day? Or if it’s best to buy separate lamps? I appreciate the help and tips!

@Boris and Hank I soak sulcata feed pellets so they are soft to eat with mainly hay- and occasionally carrots/collard greens- He has no pyramiding- he has a regular light and a UVB but spends most time outside- we are in texas so he gets the right amount of heat but never too much he always has an option for shade- for humidity i have a spray bottle i spray like 2 times a day around the cage - hes very active and doesnt seem unhealthy just isnt growing :/

My Russian tortois won't drink water on his own. I got him a week ago. A day after i bought him he urinated while powder. I'm assuming from when he was at the store. I have sprayed him down several times a day. Soaked him 4 times in a week. He has two water bowls in his enclosure. I haven't seen urine since that original day. When I Soaked him I never saw him drink. .
    What am I doing wrong

    • @ShadowsReptiles

Hey nothing, just make sure his enclosure is set up properly and his diet is good and he will be fine! They don’t drink too much water since they are used to a dry climate, with the sprays and his diet he is getting enough hydration most likely so he doesn’t feel the need to drink.
