Hi Chris, Just had 3 Hermanns eggs hatch. I live in the south of England Temperature is around 22C at present Should I keep the 3 newly hatched Hermanns outdoors throughout the summer straight away from day 1 and what is the best substrate for them? They are in an open tortoise table with access to water and shade and vegetation fed on flowers weeds and access to cuttlefish. Then should I keep them in the unit shown in the video in the Autumn prior to a short 6 to 8 week hibernation and once they wake up prior to putting them in the garden? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I was gifted a four year old red foot tortoise last may. Her previous owner couldn't take care of her anymore, and since I have a very large backyard she can explore, he gave her to me. She has slight pyramiding, but I've been doing research to keep it from getting worse. Even if she just turned 5 years old last week, I'm still going to follow these tips as a new tortoise mommy.

I had to find them a new home after my divorce- I didn't have the room for their indoor habitat and lost the yard for their summer playground.
