Even keeping up that pace for ten minutes and some extra seconds is pretty impressive. Well done, Goran!
Thanks Bogdan 😊
Spoiler alert 🤪
@@goranwinblad Amazing stuff, its thumbs up from me :) maybe one day you could make video with running at this pace outside ? :)
@@SuperExtreme46 I second that. Pick a day with great weather and a super flat/straight course
Great effort. However, its not same as running on track or road as motor treadmill running takes less effort for the same distance.
I've seen a few of these comparisons now, and it just reinforces to me how insanely fast this pace is. I can't even reach this speed, let alone maintain it for any length of time!
Whats more impressive is that Kipchoge just smiled and not even a panting after that race.
I beat my own record with a 5:44min/km pace over 8km a few days ago. I'm shocked that I would have to run nearly twice as fast to match the pace of the marathon record.
yeah its scary how fast he runs for so long xD
Good job sir. Don't be afraid to push yourself. I used to run 5.20s then one day I decided to up my pace qnd ended up doing 4.40. Then I realized how fast I can go and increased pace again and run 4.20s. I kept the 4.20s for a while till I was able to get to 4.03 my personal best. I was afraid to increase my pace at first, but once I did, I realized my true capabilities
2x faster and X 5 times the distance
@giga white 4.30 for 20 kms (without much effort)?? Good lord.
Even sprinting 30s im not sure you can reach that speed
The way that Kipchoge was GLIDING 13mph was phenomenal! He is truly a G.O.A.T. of long distance!
That belongs to Haile Gebreselasie
doping helps considerably
If he manages to hold that pace for the 100k and break the 6 hour mark ( WR being 6:08:51.65 seconds) I think Im gonna faint
@@random-zb7fp It's not debatable that Kipchoge has accomplished more then Haile at the marathon distance. 10 world marathon major wins and 2 Olympic golds vs 4 world marathon major wins and 0 Olympic golds. If we include 5K and 10K as well, I argue that title belongs to Bekele. I have suspicion, though, that Cheptegei will end up with the most accomplished career should his trajectory continue. Haile was undoubtedly the best of his time until Bekele came along.
@@sembiotic3468 since you would know then get on the juice yourself and achieve a sub 2 hour marathon 👍
The other day I saw a clip on Instagram of a bunch of Kenyan runners that were running next to each other on 12 treadmills, and just like you did here, they also had that elegant long stride. It makes the running look so beautiful!
Thanks for that 😊
@Em Be same was it the one with someone said something about make it look easy?
Well said!!! I'm out with PF at the moment. Literally crying watching this.
Long stride or not, kipchoge's height is 167cm which is less tall than most European.
@@MrMan7320yeah so? So there are no short white people?
You're basically a sub-elite runner who is way, way ahead of even a keen runner like me who can do 5k in 19 minutes so the fact that you can only last about 10 mins at this pace just shows how superhuman Kipchoge and any of these athletes running a Marathon in under 2:05 are. I would really struggle to last 2 mins at this pace so that shows you how far ahead of a 19:18 5k runner a 15:30 5k runner is = 5 times as long!
Thanks for the video and the effort!
I’ve seen videos of people at Nike meet ups or something hop on a treadmill that going at kipchoges pace and they can’t even keep it for a minute. You kept a little faster pace for a little bit over 10 minutes. Honestly impressive.
Thanks 😊
"If you need someone to pace you for the first 10 minutes....".....ahaha, excellent stuff Goran
😂 thanks!
I tried it too, kept it for 2 mins 13 seconds 😂 pretty happy with that! Your result is amazing !
These 10 minutes show that you are an excellent runner. Kipchoge is from a different planet :)
Yeah Kipchoges level is just insane!
I ran my first marathon in a bit over 4 hours, i was already pretty happy with that time!
I do inline skating on a rail trail.I could never get a 2hr pace for a marathon distance. Best is like 2:10ish. That is with huge wheels too
@@alb12345672 haha, still nice! and i learned having fun is the most important, even when competing at top level i think.
and i really want to learn inline skating, funny enough i am used to longboards and skateboards. but inline skating is really hard to learn for me.
With my 2,5h half marathon, I was also very happy tp finish. Haha.
Well done. Keep running
Stop lying bro 🤣
Love the video! Awesome experiment and respect Goran, quite a form you have. Keep posting, you have a fan here.
Thanks for your nice comment, glad you liked it 😊
You're a legend Goran...in shape i can do 400m repeats at that pace and thats all for me!!! If you can sustain that pace for over 10 minutes, there is no reason that with training you couldn't do it for a 5 km on the treadmill in the future! 😀
Great job Göran!! And your videos are always so well filmed and edited!! I am sure you will grow a lot on RUclips
Thanks 😊
Well done Göran, fantastic effort! Great video and challenge. And congrats on over 40k subs.. I remember when you ticked past 10k!
Thanks Julian, yeah can’t believe we’re over 40000 😀
your videos are just the best videos around dude! super charismatic and great content. big fan here :)
Thanks that makes me very happy to hear 😀
Well done Goran. That was impressive, and the video really showed how extremely difficult is to run a marathon at that pace!!!
man you make it look effortless. You look as relaxed as I feel at 17kph. Your stride is so efficient.
Dude you are amazing 10 min at 434 per mile by the way that's how fast it is ive seen your videos before just not for a while glad I found you again there's so many runners on RUclips it's crazy you are definitely one of my favorites can't wait to see more of what you got.
Very impresive Göran. I like your videos so much and I cannot await the next one.
Thanks! More coming 😀
Veldig bra Goran!
Really impressive that you hold this awesome pace for 10 min.
Med vennlig hilsen fra tyskland
Daniel
This pace looks so outlandish to me. Huge respect for keeping it up this long!
Such a fun and engaging video! Great idea and execution!
Thanks Matei! 😊
Nice illustration toe get a scope of how insane Kipchoge running is.Greetings from Nairobi Kenya.
Goran your videos are always brilliant and your content hugely enjoyable! Keep being your brilliant self and good things will happen 👏
Thanks for that super nice comment 😊
your personality is truly commendable. thank you for this
Awesome!
Great inspiration for me in my getting serious about running again.
Thank You!!!
Feel pretty honored getting to see Kipchoge, Bekele and Farah running just outside my front door in Greenwich, during the London Marathon.
Amazing when it's roads you've jogged on yourself and can get an idea of how fast they're going.
Hi Goran, impressive pace! Well done for doing it for more than 10 minutes. Keep it going!
Absolutely amazing!! Well done 👏
I used to be a runner then moved to weights for a long time now back to running. Thank you for your videos , just done a run now having a chill out beer
Well that’s a huge development to move the weights by running! 🤪 or do you train for Hyrox?
Congrats on getting back to running and thanks for your nice comment!
Doing both is the best for the body I think, just for health I mean.
Well done Goran!! I will be amazing to see the 2hrs barrier conquered!!.
Amazing work to maintain that pace for so long! I think Kipchoge will run the first sub 2 hour official world record sometime in the next few years. He seems in great shape, especially with the Tokyo Marathon win in 2:02:40, where he missed a turn! If it's not Kipchoge, then I think it'll be Jacob Kiplomo.
Thanks, yeah it will be interesting to see how many more years Kipchoge can keep this insane level!
He’s about to turn 38? If he manages to do what you say, well, he isn’t human! But, we already know that lol . Eliud, aside from his unbelievable physical capabilities, his mental strength is above elite, insane
Great effort and great content! 👍 Just subbed
Great form! 10 minutes is impressive for sure, good work 💪
While watching this video, I remind myself of the first time you’ve ever ran a sub 9 minute 3k. You look amazing running 21.5 kph, and I really wonder how fast you could run an all out 3k now. Keep moving forward!!!
This pace is 9:12 on the 3200 so it should be good
Thats a crazy pace, good job for the 10 minutes. I liked the video subject matter.
Thanks!
Great effort, man this is epic.
Sjukt imponerande! Starkt!
Helt ofattbart hur någon klarar det i 2 timmar
I could probably hold this pace for 800-1200m. My 5k pb is 16:37 :p
Great effort, I have a lot of respect, thanks for the video. Stu
Nice video! You said it right. Not only is the speed at which Kipchoge runs the Marathon amazing, but also the perfect and beautiful form he somehow manages to keep during the entire distance is unbelievable. An absolute legend of the sport.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah he truly is!
And the guy who runs 20 seconds slower will never be widely known. 😞
I would love to see also a comparison of heart rates at that pace, perhaps the difference would be significant (of course).
I do not think there will be a significant difference in the absolute numbers. Kipchoge HR during marathons is about 160-170 which is insane to sustain that HR for 2 hours. My guess is that Goran HR would be around 170 or slightly higher (judging from his face expressions). Goran: can you confirm please because I could be wrong.
@@hamzaa.8082 2 hours in the 160s seems far from insane to me tbh. But i dont think goran was below 180 for this effort :D
Yes... Exactly
. Would be a shame to not use that run for anything. Let's have some stars!
@@hamzaa.8082 the absolute hr value for the same effort (and performance) might differquite a bit from person to person, isn´t it? 160 beats could be an aerobic effort for one person, and a max effort for another, and yet they be equally fast
Good effort put out all the way.
Hi Göran, well done!!! Moreover, yes I think we'll see a sub 2 hours marathon in our lifetime.
I was shocked, how super hard it is (tried to keep 3min/km for few seconds :) ) and result of my experiment is clear: no, no way, no one can keep this pace for 2h. :-)
😂
Impressive! If only you could hang on for 4 more minutes, then you would have done a 14min 5km 😂 amazing to hang on for as long as you did!!
Thanks! 😊
lol ya right ..4 minutes may as well have been 4 years at that speed
Great video!!!
it's amazing to me how u compare yourself to him and the difference between you two is obvious. yet i could only dream of doing what you did in the next 3 months maybe in my journey to a healthier more active life style .
Great job man
first timer her but definitely gonna subscribe.
Well done. Another great video
Thanks Mads!
Great job!!
Goran, you are a BEAST!!! I can’t even imaging running that fast for that long. The fastest I’ve ever run in a 5K was I think around 4:52 for the first mile. I was 16 years old and was doing literally no pacing. I’m pretty sure that ESPN was there filming it for their Running and Racing TV show. I’ve always thought about contacting them so I get footage of me in that first mile keeping 1st place in the race. The thing is, there were pro runners there who went on to win the race and a 4:52 mile didn’t even phase them. I couldn’t believe how relaxed and calm they were. Anyways, you’re awesome dude. I’m impressed. Oh. And you have a great leg kick. It’s going to help you run fast.
A truly amazing performance. Well done.
I love your content! keep it up!
Thanks glad to hear 😊
Very good, Goran!
Great job. Best result I’ve seen on RUclips. Thank you for sharing your courage and pain with us. Very inspiring
Thanks Adam 😊
This was a really fun video. We wanna see you try this on track. 👍
Thanks and thanks for the suggestion!
Nice video!
Brilliant! And loved your offer to Kipchoge lol
I love your insane ideas!
Running like Kipchoge or even close to him is a genetic gift for sure.
Not even the best runners amongst could train to attain such a pace and endurance.
Cardiovascular, muscles, Lactic pain acid buildup, etc. There’s something very unique with their bodies.
Those guys r built that way at birth.
yup, most pro sports are getting to the level where you need to put the work + genetics to be at the top. Like olympic swimmer (men) need certain height, same for tennis players, for pro cyclist their oxygen intake must be incredible, etc...
but the best amongst the best are pretty close to him ?
first of all they've been running probably before they were born and that's the most important thing.
Interesting video, keep it up
I did this challenge not long ago and I manage to run for 90 seconds, I'm much closer to beat a 100 meter runner in the olympics then keep up with Kipchoges pace for 1000 meters, insane. Good running and a great video Göran.
hahaha because gaps between guys running 100 meters could be ms so of course it seems that way, but it could not be furter from the truth that it's easier.
Wow! Great job!
Great content, Keep it up. Subscribed to the channel :)
Thanks and welcome to the channel! 😀
amazing video!
Well done!! ✊🏾
I'm getting a stitch just watching man. Keeping the pace for 10 minutes is solid.
impressive! You looked so effortless
Thanks Manju 😊
This is epic well done
Nice video! impressive that you can keep up that pace for so long! Can you add your heart rate metrics beside the duration counter next time? 😃
Thanks, and thanks for your suggestion will ad that next time I do a similar video! 😊
@@goranwinblad I mean, you already mentioned about that 5k in the video 😏 It would be so cool to see how you would train for it, statistics, food etc. and is it even possible to reach e.g. in one year time frame.
Good job man, I didn’t think you were going to be able to make it that far
Congrats ‼️👏👏👏
Good job. Honest analysis
I'm super impressed man. Wow. Bravo
Snyggt jobbat!!
Tack!
Very impressed!!!
Great channel thanks !
Great running brother
Top man. Well done 👍🏃🏻♂️👏
Thanks 😀
Epic effort👍🏻
Incredible 💪🏼
You make great running videos dude. Also I wish I lived in Norway sir
Thanks 😊
Amazing stuff. You lost me when you compared your pain with his 😂 haha. Awesome!
Thanks for the Video. I was running in Berlin in 2018 and people were supporting us with the world record time. Well, when he finished I was at the half Marathon mark... Unbelievable pace. unbelievable.
What was your pulse by the way?
Great job 👍🏽!
Thanks!
Awesome man.
Really puts things in perspective... 😅 Thanks
I like how humble is this guy. Very nice and good job
Kipchoge is a professional athlete and day-in-day-out, runs a marathon distance several times a week.
Well said!!! I'm out with PF at the moment. Literally crying watching this.
What's PF?
@@paypal5592 plantar fasciitus
You're amazing! That was impressive ☺️
Thank you so much!!
Great video.
Firstly, I enjoy your videos and information you share. You have a great attitude about life and are pleasant to watch. With this, I’m wondering what the average incline for these marathon times are… for example, in 1908, where was the marathon tracked as compared to 1956. Also, where was the current record set. Just some general curiosity ❤
Looking forward to seeing more from you, keep it up! 😊
I've seen a few of these comparisons and you lasted more then most. Honestly an insane pace.
Man, you rock! 💪
Nice one Göran! Your treadmill sure looks nice, I bet it helps a lot with training when it's hard to motivate to go outside, or as an alternative option. Just give me a call if you want someone to pace you for like 3 min when you do your 10 min run 😂 ses i nästa video!
This is really impressive. I wish I break 3:45 for one kilometer someday. Have you ever tried to callibrate this threadmill and/or footpod? On my treadmill the real speed is 9% slower and I see that in different shoes I have different callibration factor for foodpod as well.
Great video .. you made me chuckle. Well done. Has he called you yet ??
Great challenge. Forget 10 minutes, I could not last for 10 seconds! Well done.
