@@CDmusic10 In Germany, one of the most popular radio stations is called SWR1 and plays mainly rock-pop music from 1960-2000. This station lets its listeners vote for their favorite song of all time, and "Snoke on the Water" reached #57 last year, while "Wonderwall" only reached #445. I'm not saying that "Snoke on the Water" is objectively better, but this song definitely has its fans. At least in Germany.
This is golden. When I took my 14yo son to the guitar shop for the first time I had to get him to practice some "legal" tunes first. In the end he went in and played selected pieces from Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds. Salesman said he hadn't heard anyone play that there before and thought it it was cool coming from a young lad.
my 5th grade music teacher taught us all how to play smoke on the water on guitar or ukulele (you got to pick) even though we were 10 and did not know what that song was
I'd always thought guitar stores had a separate booth room to try out the merch, then I went to a guitar center and saw none. No wonder they get so irate.
the sam ash near me had a booth for the orchestral instruments, but the guitars were all just in a room. id go in for sheet music and hear the guitars from the other room lol
True story ... when i was a teen, a friend down the street got a guitar, plugged in on his driveway, and played the Smoke riff over and over; it was the only thing he learned.
Once in the acoustic section, start playing Dust in the Wind. Then, you'll kindly be asked to leave. Before that, run back to grab an electric guitar and play Smells Like Teen Spirit. That will make them change their minds
I use to work with this guy at a copier company. He was one of the delivery guys, but his side job was with Guitar Center. The store literally paid him to play the guitar in the store. He wasn't a sales guy, just a guy playing the guitar so people would think "hey it isn't that hard, let me buy this 3k Les Paul".
This is such a great tutorial! When I played this, the employees were so impressed by my playing that they called the store manager to listen to my playing because its so good! Oh, and they also kindly escorted me to the exit door after. But for some reason they wont allow me into their guitar store.
glad i’m here before the 0-3-5 copyright strike also. can’t believe Stairway wasn’t even mentioned. it’s literally posted on the walls to NOT play. you HAVE to play it to assert dominance
Instructions unclear: I’m now in the cult of employees and I’ve been promoted to leader
Cool I'm the cult of personality 💀
sweet child o' mine, bow to the smoke on the water
This is hilarious!
Leader! 🫡
Band aid for ruffians Lol
They REALLY love it when you play stairway to heaven.
Most new employees don't know Stairway to Heaven...
@tygrahof9268 You'd have to play some overplayed Kanye song lol.
especially wonderwall
I came down here to comment that lol
@@tygrahof9268😱😱😱 HOW DARE THEY
Back in the day, music shops in the UK often had a sign saying “NO Smoke on the Water”
😂👍
No smoke on the water? Denied!
Don't forget Stairway to Heaven.
“Random notes” bro thought I wouldn’t notice Kirks solo from One
I didn’t notice it until I saw your comment. (I thought it was the beginning of: The stage-A7X
@@kill-a-byte6225 I just listened to that song for the first time before you wrote your comment. That’s scary
Haha same😂😂
Fr😂
Yeah I noticed from One too
I'm surprised Wonderwall and Stairway to Heaven weren't mentioned
The 2 most forbidden guitar songs in the universe lol. Also, one of them I frequently play for random people....
U have 666 likes..... Lemme fix that
You save those song for you encore performance.

Too obvious
“Wonderwall” on Acoustic will make people happy too😂

Hey, it's good if you can play and sing it well lol.
Most of these songs are decent. Just overused…
@@leonschubert2453 I've never been a big fan of "Smoke on the water"😂

I got ptsd from my brother constantly playing seven nation on bass

War of the Worlds. That's a piece I haven't heard in a while.
Props to your son.
And when you hit the acoustic guitar section, be sure to get in both "Hotel California" and "Stairway To Heaven."
Ironically, neither of those are easy songs if played correctly.
Lol "...will make the employees mad- I mean happy... yeah so happy they will fall in love with you."
the rlly fast notes bit was actually the one solo by metallica lol
'Nothing else matters' intro is really.... REALLY appretiared
Elise help, the employees are madly in love with me after this one..
WHY ARE YOU EVERYWHERE

Bruh....💀
One relationship for each of the six guitar strings. Nice!
Based.
one solo is valid imo
The first thing they taught us on guitar at school was smoke on the water and guitar stores will love it when u bring back those memories 🤩
i'm surprised you didn't mention Nothing else matters in electric section and Wonderwall in the latter 😁
I'll definitely try these next time! ☺️☺️
let me know how it goes!
@@EliseEcklund I'm sure the employees will love me ❤️
@@EliseEcklund just in case you didn’t know the “fast random notes” was the solo of One by Metallica (but slightly slower)
Love how you brought Bryan for the hard one
One solo is crazy
Smoke on the water. Vietnam flashbacks to the piano dude in my orchestra playing those three simple chores over and over again.
Woah I’ve never heard these 🤯 I’ll think about playing them
Sweet child of mine reminds me that I’m going to be a talent show tomorrow and someone is going to sing that

I did 7 nation army and the teacher told me to play another song or get out 😭
This was amazing! I really needed a laugh and your videos always make me laugh, so thanks!
Hey Youngling 👋 the way you looked so seriously deadly. I like it in you! Go Girl 👐
“Stairway to Heaven” has left the chat
you forgot stairway to heaven- to make the employees want you to own the store
She unironically loves that last song and that was her reason for making this whole video 😅
I LOVE I MISS YOU I GET TO GO TO THEIR CONCERT SOON!❤

I was waiting for u to weezer us
They tellyou to stop...
So head over to the acoustic section 😂
lmao your so funny 😭😭😭🙏
I personally like plugging into a line 6 amp and put it on the insane setting
And turn all the effects on and just play random notes 😁
Omg the first one could have become a all time classic. If they would used a guitar back the days
You forgot the Buddy Holly lick
The "random notes" sounds like the lead break of Master of Puppets
It’s One by Metallica
@@emekabegaye4921 Ah, yes. I listened to that lead break again and realised I was conflating it with One. Thank you.
Thank you for reminding me to listen to I Miss you again lol

In the UK. Head to the aucustic section.
*plays wonderwall by oaisis*
Blink-182 at the end is something I wasn’t expecting but was very happy to hear 😁
Smoke on the water is like the first song I played in my guitar
My go to is always the opening solo to I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor. At least the employees always know I'm in the shop when I play it.
The "random notes" was the solo to Metallica's "One" to anyone curious
I always play all the notes on the fretboard in chromatic order to see if there are any buzzing strings.
Thank you so much for not playing wonderwall on acoustic, you've made my day
Outstanding Video!!! I love it!
I didn't want to find you funny....ever...but actually you make me chuckle every time... thanks...nice delivery ❤

YES!!!! I LOVE I MISS YOU!...im going to do this in a guitar store
You should play “toxic gossip train”! It will make everyone forget your mistakes ☺️
I played Wonderwall, there’s now a giant wonderwall against me and my local guitar center.
The fact that I recognized that tapping solo from the first note.

Hi Elise! Try this one: Loquillo y los Trogloditas. Carne para Linda.
where are you im so sorry i can not sleep i can not dream tonight🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
In the UK the main song is wonderwall by oasis.
The band ever said they hated that song
And when in acoustic section, ask for a capo and put it on 2nd fret.
Smoke On The Water was the first song we learned in my gaiter elective….brought back so many memories😅
One tapping solo is with pick
my favorite thing is playing sweet child of mine a fifth down and having a buddy there playing it a half step above me
The song wet sand by the Red Hot Chili Peppers has an amazing guitar solo at the end of the song performed by John Frusciante
"Flight of the Bumblebee" on acoustic guitar! Jose Feliciano slayed it!
The bass guitar. Kill me if I’m wrong but the only one played on a regular electric guitar is sweet child of mine
Riptide on an acoustic guitar will make everyone so happy! It's a very underrated song, and not many people have heard it before!
