Buy a guitar with active pickups for a wider range tone that can be better shaped to mimic both high and low output sounds. Don't get in a hurry. I was taught to "Court" a guitar by my father. Play it at least three times on three different days. Your mood etc will be different everytime. If it plays well for you each time, consider buying it.
Also, always try the hardest chord for you to make. If you nail it everytime, you just may have found what you need.
Don't let the salesmen put pressure on you. Be open and tell them your looking for your guitar and it may the a bit.
Impulse purchases can end up sitting in the case because it's really not the instrument for you.

The most important aspect of buying any guitar is to always play it without an amp in the store. If it sounds bad dry, it’ll never sound great amplified and processed. Feel everything including the weight, balance, and how solid everything feels. This is how I ended up buying an American strat from 2002 despite it not being my style or preference at all. Still one of my best ever purchases.

It has a Jackson Ultra High Output Ceramic Humbucker in the Bridge position, and it did have two Jackson Vintage Single coils in the neck and middle positions. I replaced the single coils with two Seymore Duncan Hot Rails, installed three toggle switches to split each of the pick-up's individually, designed, built and installed a pre-amp and a push / pull volume pot to give me the active electronics option and my 35 year old Charvel which I loved anyhow has blossomed into my favourite guitar, of which I have quite a few. @@satishdass7460 you are overpaying for a guitar, the Dave mustaine V is maybe worth $1k retail. I own the silver one and I was sorely disappointed with what I received, it feels like the guitar had potential but it’s held back by Gibson’s quirks and habit of charging $1500 more for a guitar than they should. If you want a high quality Flying V-style guitar, I’d probably get a Schecter sls elite(has the traditional Flying V shape with modern metal specs) or I’d get an LTD arrow(more like a Rhoads, but definitely the best V-shaped guitar I’ve ever played).

It will hold its worth as well for a while. I wouldn't mind paying for it though as I've always wanted a mustaine signature. I know for sure though that the e2, ltd and schecter are far superior built (I own a few ltds and schecters) as they remain unscathed no matter how much they get used. But the Mustaine guitar is inspiring, just disappointed that they would not focus on quality (the knobs and switch felt cheap).

ESP LTD M1000HT. Hard tail being low makes for easy trem picking for me, I change tunings to much so Floyd roses are just to much of a pain and I already have an ltd ec 1000 matte black with gold hardware and emgs that sounds great all around.
The 2022 m1000ht is probably the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen. The finish looks stunning.

I’m old. Ok not that old, I’m 40. But Slash and Jimmy Page made me want to play. Naturally, I’m a huge Les Paul fan. I have 3 of them. ‘57 Classic pickups are the best. Then one day, I got a Telecaster, and everything changed. If you want 1 guitar, get a telecaster. If you want 2, get a Les Paul.

Started with a tele, then a les Paul HH, a strat, an SG with T style humbuckers… then a p90 LP jr and now I’m getting into 80s rock so I got a Kramer. Just catch them all like Pokémon’s 😂😂

Solid body gretcshes can be pretty solid guitars for metal especially the baritones. One of Kurt Ballou's main custom guitars is pretty much a solid body double jet with no curved top, a hardtail bridge and no neck pickup.

  • @mememan5466

If you want a guitar that can do it all, a bc rich legacy of either a mockingbird or a rich "B". They have 2 humbuckers with a coil split switch for each of them and a phase switcher. They also have a 5 way varitone which is like having 2 tone dials for the same pickup (it gives more options). It has all the general stuff like pickup selector, 2 volume, 1 tone, 24 frets. You can get either of these in either hard tail or floyd rose and for the rich "B" you can get it in double neck with a 12 string. If you don't mind having a funny shaped guitar that will be a nightmare to get a case for, you can get a guitar that can do most things

Whatever inspires you and makes you wanna play and makes you happy, that’s the one. If it breaks the rules, it’s still the one. Geordie Walker is my favorite example. The dude is playing industrial metal on a 1950’s Gibson jazz hollow body with p90’s. But guess what, nobody sounds like him and it’s awesome.

    Here’s my advice.
It doesn’t matter how it sounds or what pickups it has or nothing. If you grab a guitar and you can afford it and you sit down, plug it in and strum it a bit and you think “I like this and I want this” then you buy it.

I'm planning to buy a new guitar in about a month. I'm looking for LP style guitar with 50's like humbuckers. I found two nice variants: HB SC-550 plus EMG (with retroactive 55's) and Epiphone LP 50' standard. Second one costs almost 200$ more than the first one. Is it really worth it? I really like the looks of both of them, as well as the soundings. Maybe I like the headstock on Standard a little more. So it's really up to the price. Is Epiphone worth it's cost?

    • @cenkdonmezguitar

i've played the epiphone its great. sounds quite similar to gibson, feel wise the fretwork is good for the money and the feel is a pure original les paul with great colors i think you can't go wrong with epiphone but i dont know the other one
