    I ended up removing mine and went to the outer monitors sitting behind the bezel of the centre. This makes the bezel about 8mm wide and not overly intrusive.
    I do a lot of drifting and therefore look directly at the bezel free lens a lot. I found the world distorsion to mess with my eyes and give me a bit of a headache after a while. I removed the kit and no more mind bending.
    Great idea but just not great enough.

    I have the same feelings. But the Gains out weigh the issues. But I totally agree with you.

      That is where my head is at right now. I do like them and don't think it is a huge problem since we do adapt. Time will tell.

    Rather than VR. Have you considered running Shutter Glasses? The bezel issue would 'disappear' when your mind fudges the details one eye is missing from the other eye. It'd be like having an A-Pillar in your way.

      Interesting thought. I might try it for you know. Science.

    When racing, the distortion gets lost for me. I fly by stuff really fast. In MSFS it’s a bit different as all is slower. But again, I take the distortion for not having to look at a black bar! The left side in a car ain’t much of a problem most of the time. Right side is different. Anyway… I don’t wanna miss on my bezel free kit! Edit: I run my tripes for 2 weeks without it first.

      I'm with you. I want to run it. I have been able to correct a bit so far, but it isn't 100 percent yet.

      @@sense-of-speed I always wondered why no one is getting rid of the bezel?! I have a very slim one so I don’t think there is precious tech covered besides the display itself.

      It would be pretty niche, but a wrap around seamless would be so awesome. It's probably not worth the development money, though.

      @@sense-of-speed maybe a 180 degree video projector would also do. Imagine that. Hanging above you, delivering a 180 degree image with more height! You just had to build some kinda canvas with triple screen optics. 😊🤷‍♂️

      I have thought about it. I follow a guy on insta who has a formula rig with projectors. It's intriguing for sure. Also. I'm not sure if you saw it but I responded a few days ago asking if you're on Reddit so we can test some flat screen stuff. I think I'm ready if you are?

    I couldn't get the kit to work with my 27" triples. But I recently bought a TK triple monitor stand from Microcenter that I am adapting to sit on my desk and maybe that will help. Hopefully I can figure out the correct angles, settings and maths to get the FOV right and all that hogwash. Wish me luck. Any good videos out the that will help me on my journey?

    • @sense-of-speed
      @sense-of-speed  11 месяцев назад

      A good stand or support is a must. Being desk mounted, I'm not sure what type of angle you will be able to use and assume they won't wrap around you too much? If that's the case, 50 degrees might be a good option.
      The biggest thing is getting them aligned as close as possible and level. From there, fov is pretty simple but will depend on your angle and eyeb distance. I'm not familiar with any videos out there since I just went at it and figured it out.

    Hey SimRacing buddy! 👋 Awesome video with great insights. One thing I noticed is your car's Field of View - have you considered trying the new Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57-inch? It might be perfect for you. I had a similar experience with a triple-monitor setup before switching, and the immersion with the 57-inch is unreal - no more blurry bezels! I even have tests on my channel. Give it a shot if you can; it feels like being in a real car. Keep up the cool content, and see you on the track! 🏁

      Hey, buddy. I've seen your setup and follow you on IG. Also, I saw your first g9 failed, and I was sorry to hear that. As much as it is intriguing, I prefer triples, so I have to work with what I have...

    I can always see the bezel kit, the slight distortion and drop in luminosity is more noticeable than a smaller black bar.

    • @sense-of-speed
      @sense-of-speed  8 месяцев назад

      With my screens at a true 65 degrees I get a bit of luminosity shift but I can tune than out much better than my bezels.

    With my panels I can slide the side monitors so that their bezel is sitting behind. Only leaves me with one small bezel, which I can live with.

      With the kit? I've been thinking about tucking mine in but haven't yet since I spent way too much time aligning them.

      I have big 50 inch monitors, so no. Did try a DIY setup taken from an old LCD screen, but never liked them. The small bezel disappears after a while. @@sense-of-speed

    would trimming the width of it have any useful impact?

    • @sense-of-speed
      @sense-of-speed  11 месяцев назад

      No. The problem is that we are still dealing with no correction in game, which the kit needs to project a seamless image. Any correction cuts off the image the bezel kit uses to project regardless of width.

    How about a 32:9 ultra wide with 2 16:9 sides, has anyone worked out the configuration/settings there? At least then the distortion will be drastically more on the periphery

    Doesn’t vanish Y in the camera tool correct for that distortion?

    • @sense-of-speed
      @sense-of-speed  11 месяцев назад

      No. Y and P correct kink in the horizon line or barriers based on eye level. Think of it like the side images are kicked out from you when using the bezel kit. If that makes sense.
