GEAR OVERVIEW (TOUR) AND SCOPE OF CONTENT
Hi, amazing job ! thanks for the great content I have three 32-inch AOC monitors with an 1800R curvature. What would be the perfect angle, please? I couldn’t find the answer in the comments, so I’m reaching out to you directly. Thank you in advance.
28:08 lmfao somebody skipped trigonometry class. this is not a correct representation of a 60° fov triangle. the triangle you specify is a 120° fov triangle because all angles have to sum up to 180°. but considering the rest of the video this doesn't surprise me. same with the dots. complete bullshit you're yapping there about what they do and how they're rendered. you absolutely have zero clue and yet you're still making a video and "explaining" it.
I'm on triple flat with 560 mm eye distance, radius 60, 27". Why it shows me 182° fov? what I'm doing wrong? I followed all in the video but it feels unatural. I have to use curved monitors in monitor settings even I'm on flat triples? I put 610 mm monitor width and 660 radius (+50) and when I go for black box fov it shows me at 560 eye distance=182° fov
Can you write the instructions down? Need a quick way to reference lol.
So I'm a bit confused: I'm on single monitor so I changed to 120, 8, 64, 512, then I'm confused at waht I should chagne my monitor settings to and also how I go about adjusting the number before
Panic disorder means you take in more information than most people. This channel is your way of processing and sharing it. What a gift to us! From someone who's known the struggle, a big thank you
holy cow...this is crazy. thank so much
The best feedback I can give a guy like you is that after carefully going through your instructions, I felt like I could control my car the way I do when I used to throw my Type R around at the actual track. I'm out of practice on iRacing so I was surprised to see, after implementing your calibrations, that my time deltas for each sector of Laguna were all within hundredths over the previous lap (I've only ever hit a 1600-1800 rating before i.e. not great) My jaw is still dragging on the floor. The fun factor is 10x now and I can't wait to dive in to the rest of your videos. Thank you for your caring and meticulousness. You're a gift to the sport but also to the world. I'm running triple G8 Neos with anti-bezel and ended up setting them at around 72 degrees (at the arm) if you can believe that. They're spaced off the monitor around 8 mm at the top and around 2 mm on the outside bottoms, with the inside bottom flush. Screen is around 650 mm from my eyeball. Slight distortion on diagonals where the lens sits off the screen a bit (a-pillar, etc), but my brain is too stimulated to notice anymore. You're the ultimate anti-bezel kit.
Can someone translate this into German and explain it for the stupid? I would like it to look like this with my 32 triples
thx! Also what sim is that at 4:33 on Nords?
AMS2
so at the end you say remove the first number add 12 to your width and 12 to your radius , well my width is 1060.. if i remove the 1 its now 12060 does not work my radius is 1100 remove the 1 ad 12 its now 12100
Awesome and clear vid. Thanks.
Hi, which difficult of ai you use?
@@batmanfr91 Maximum
what a great guide. made me feel way more "in the car" than ever before, appreciate it
Nice work I can’t wait to give it all a try. , I will need to lock out a few hours..
Thank you very much for your work ! And for sharing this with the community! Please give me some advice: I have a 48" triples, 1050 mm width, 10 mm bezel, 920P radius (1840 mm between monitors), eye distance 700 mm, angle with side monitors 69 degrees, when I enter these parameters into iRacing I get a FOV of 207 degrees (with "eye dist 701mm"), but it seems to me that this is too big a value, for example 187 degrees looks closer to reality. Near play distance i set to 30, as you recommended. What do you think will be correct FOV in my case? Maybe I need to set a different FOV and increase the width and radius of the monitors in iRacing (by how much?) ?
bump I have a similar issue.
Thanks for this ! I'm lucky I managed to get my triple screens at 52cm. I have 27" curved screens with a 1500 radius. The distance between the left and right screens is 1235 mm. In the original settings: screen width=610, bessel: -1 (bezelkit), radius: 618, FoV: 186. With your method I have now: distance: 906mm and FoV: 204. All I can say that my view is perfect and driving is much more natural. I would like to join in the discord 🙂
This is pretty exciting. I didnt think I will watch full video and I just got dragged into it. Now I think when do I find time for all of this, but it really does looks like worth time spending. When do Iracing makes visuals correspond to the current standards, this sim will become a one to go solution. Thank you for the great tutorial.
wow, those force feedback changes are exactly what my moza r9 needed. there's so much more detail and it feels snappier. thanks!
You are very technical and your knowledge is awesome I personally wish you cut to music back ground out as it distracting that said your channel and you data love all the tips and hard work you have done very interesting would rather concentrate on your words than back ground music cheers fantastic channel
So even if you have flat monitors, you make the game imagine then as curved? Also if you have 3 flats and no bezzels, do u put the distance between the monitors? Or use -2 and use the whole(incl. bezels) lenght of the monitor? My monitors' display width is 698. With bezels they are 716. Which values do I put in monitor and bezel width? Thanks in advance 🙏
Thank you for this! I had paid for your tool file (didn't need it but why not) and I finally got your FOV concept in my racers brain to click, so I changed the files as per instructions and bam, I got even more detail with 1440P 32"triples and a 4070 Super!
Yep now mostly over driving corners, when looking at prodrivers telemetry. Before I was under driving. Nice exploring expirement.
Super 👍 Thanks
62 degrees makes it easier to tuck into the rig ? Isn't it the opposite ? The less degrees the easier it should be ?
I said 62 will still allow easy access into the rig. I didn't say it would make it easier.
@@sense-of-speedoh ok, thank you for your answer! One more question since im not using bezel kits, do I have to put my bezel width into the monitor settings? And if i have to make adjustments , do i do the whole thing again, like put 7XX in radius, etc. Exit the menu then adjust distance to eyes via brackets. Then reenter the menu and replace it with 12XX? Or do i only have to change the bezzel width let's say.
I ran all steps did feel more consistent so thanks. But my question is so reaper has flats but did he still add a radius?
Yes. He runs the same settings in the video as me.
Would it be safe to calculate worldpov based on wheel base of car?
Where does the 12 number come in from? @sense-of-speed
coffee cup in the cockpit ;) nice setup!
Thank you for this I have been using your tweaks for a couple weeks now and I am lightning fast compared to before. What I am curious about is how your new version of Iracing compares to Iracing in VR now. Feeling you might have evened everything up
Thank you Tyler Durden!
Lol. I've been waiting for that.
How wide are the side monitor arms apart? Wouldn’t this change the angle as well?
So i can do all of this for VR too? Id like triples but it never felt right. Being in yhe var in vr was the only way i felt planted. If i can even further improve that id be amazed
@sense-of-speed but is it normal that at 27''' he doesn't get the same fov-eye distance as you in the video? And I mean moving it in the bracket, we can't match 186 fov -635 mm eye distance in the bracket
@@agusv6661 710 monitor width and 760 radius equals 186 at 635 give or take a degree depending on bezel correction. If those values are different than mine, ya it won't match.
The values in my .ini files just keep resetting after launching iRacing again. What's going on?
@@Gew00nHarry Are you making changes while Iracing is open?
@@sense-of-speed That was it the first time, 2nd time I accidently edited the monitor file... ugh. Thanks fot eh video
@@Gew00nHarry Yep. You can make changes with the UI open but not with a track loaded. It uses a cache.
Hey brotha, could you or someone if they know plz inform the single monitor users if this same method applies? Awesome video and the low key entertainment Thanks in advance
Wow...what a change. Running triple 32 flats and I have tried so many FOV setups since moving from VR due to lots of niggly issues, I've gave up many times too. I skipped ahead like you advised not too, made lots of mistakes, the biggest being not setting the correct view distance in monitors, I assumed doing in game game with [ and ] overwrote this so I ignored /facepalm. I got there in the end. I then decided to move my setup to 630mm as you recommend too...I also use the bezel kit at 50 degree...the end results is just such a game changer, I feel more emersed than ever as my monitors are further away so thats pretty damn good, they were 490mm before. I also couldn't believe the "baseline" was exactly bang on, no need to move anything at all in game settings other than vanish and bezels, it was just perfect with exact same settings. I want to thank you so much, this is going to give me so much joy again racing. I will send a tip on kofi so you get the full amount, thanks again!
Does any of this apply to single 32in 1000r curved monitors??
I never comment, but I have to comment on this. I’ve been an iRacer since beta and, for most of that time, used it only occasionally with a basic setup (wheel clamped on a desk and a VR headset kind of vibe). It was supplementing my karting hobby. Karting dried up and about 6 months ago I splashed on my dream rig. I love racing single seaters so it’s a Playseat Formula cockpit with SimuCube, triples, the works. Sounds great… except… cue hours of frustration at how it feels, despite following all the FOV calculations. Is it because the monitors have to sit high on the Playseat? Is it because I’ve moved to triples from VR and can’t get used to it? Turns out it’s none of those things. I followed the steps in this video and the everything is TRANSFORMED! Now my rig feels like the dream setup I wanted. These changes made me realise I needed to make subtle alterations to wheel and pedal position. It was obvious for the first time, as soon as I’d set up the new POV. And it's all just clicked. Now, instead of chasing camera settings every time I jump into a new car, it all aligns every time, and most importantly I feel like I’m driving for real for the first time. This is an absolute game changer. Thank you for the hard work. Despite some of the other comments here, there’s clearly plenty of science behind your method and thought processes. Even if I can’t explain it, I can see it in the relationship between the big screen pro simulator and what you're going for on the curved canvas in front of us. Count me in for testing and being part of the community. This has brought sim racing back to life!
2:48 Looks like you still haven't bought a new wheel 😅I'm curious why you felt you needed a new wheel in this video and why you're still rocking the x-gt a year later.
@ow1ShinoXr oh, I want and need it, but I don't have enough money to get what I want yet. Lol
@@sense-of-speed what are you looking for in a new wheel?
@ow1ShinoXr I'll either build a porkorny hyper wheel or if I sell a body part buy the GSI. Definitely want something 300mm with a display, but 1500 plus is hard to justify.
@@sense-of-speed Gotcha. yeah display wheels are insanely expensive but make sense if you mostly drive LMP. I'm thinking of buying the VNM GT Wheel (300mm) and to just use a SimHub dash overlay when the car I'm driving doesn't have one.
@@ow1ShinoXr That's the thing. Pretty much all LMP or open wheel. That's why I use the lumirank as a display. Overlays kind of don't "fit" when I'm making fancy videos. Lol
Okay this was helpful but what do I need to purchase? It’s quite an overwhelming amount of information for someone who wants the most immersive triple screen setup
Hey when are we getting a new video
Love the videos! If you had to do it all over again would you do flat or curved monitors? I’m changing my setup again and want a very immersive setup but not sure what’s better.
this is incredible How did you remove the steering wheel from the GTP?
Thanks. You can turn off the wheel in the Iracing graphic settings.
Can anyone tell me what they used for their setup? (only if using 3x 34" Ultra Wides, at 10320x1440) It would be interesting to have a database (google doc maybe?) where people can put their data. This has the potential to become a huge resource for future sim-race-game developers (and players) to have a great experience while simracing.
Hiya, get info vid. To increase FPS what values should we adjust in the laser scan section?
Gone through this a couple of times after just installing triples and it has completely changed my experience (and love) of simracing, so thank you (although my wife does not thank you!). One thing that has confused me in iRacing however is the cockpit camera tool. I have adjusted horizon, pitch, height etc. What do I do with the FOV slider in the tool? I just leave it alone correct? (For instance my says 106 from my single ultra wide, and I just do not want conflicting FOV that may screw things up...)
@marklongNH lol. Awesome, Mark. The camera slider for fov doesn't save or need to be touched. It doesn't effect the global fov adjustment and it only goes to 179. My condolences to your wife.
Thanks for the work you guys put in , this took a minute but totally worth it!
