Sabaton depicts three climactic moments from the short existence of the Bismarck.
    1. Battle of the Denmark Straits, a 2v2 battle where the Bismarck and Prinz Eugen sink the HMS Hood and drive off the HMS Prince of Wales.
    2. Swordfish carrier fighters from the HMS Ark Royal land a torpedo hit on Bismarck's rudder, preventing it from escaping the British fleet.
    3. The British close the net. HMS Rodney and HMS King George V, along with two heavy cruisers whose names I can't recall from memory, close in and pound Bismarck into 50k tons of useless metal.
Historians debate whether British torpedoes or German scuttling finally finished the job, but the question is academic - Bismarck was thoroughly defeated by this point either way.

The Bismarck was and still is a violent work of art. A ship so well made it could withstand 4 and a half hours of sustained salvo fire and torps at point blank range and keep fighting until it litterally couldn't anymore due to deck damage;and then still be in nearly one piece on the ocean floor. The aft tip was broken off when it hit the bottom, otherwise the damned thing sits defiantly to this day in great shape all things considered. A few torp holes to it's outer hull that didn't even cause the sinking.

More likely the old guy with the watch was the son of the German sailor who survived. The youngest people alive who'd have fought in WW2 are in their mid-90s in 2022, and the old guy with the watch looked to be somewhere in his 60s to 70s, which would be the right age range for the kids of WW2 vets.

here just a bit more information
The "Bismarck" , and his sister ship "Tirpitz", were the 2 largest battleships ever built in Europe (250 meters long, 36 meters wide, and displacing more than 50.000 tones) and they were the pride of the kriegsmarine (Germany's militari navy) during Ww2. The "Bismarck" set sail in May 1941 to reach the Atlantic and destroy merchant convoys, but he was intercepted by the British and during a brief fight, destroyed the former flagship of the British fleet and pride of the Royal Navy, the worldwide famous battlecruiser "Hood", by penetrating her armor and detonating her aft main ammunition magazine and killing all 1400 members of her crew except for 3 men, and heavily damaged the battleship "Prince of Wales". This enraged the prime minister Winston Churcil who ordered all his ships in the Atlantic to abandon their operations and destroy the Bismarck. In total more than 40 ships participated to the hunt, making it the biggest naval hunt in history. Meanwhile Bismarck, who had received a hit during the first battle, was leaking fuel and was trying to reach the French port of Saint Nazaire, in occupied France, for repair. After 3 days of playing cat and mouse with the British, Bismarck was attacked by airplanes launched from the aircraft carrier "Ark Royal" and hit by a torpedo in the stern, which jammed his rudders during evasive manuvers, meaning that he was forced to sail in circles, just a few miles away from reaching air cover. In the end battleships "King George V" and "Rodney", along side the heavy cruisers "Norfolk" and "Dorsedshire" fought the already doomed battleship and, during the following 90 minutes completely destroyed it. However, despite having all his guns destroyed, and having received more than 400 hits (out of the 2800 shells that the British had fired at it) his armor was still mostly intact and the ship was still afloat. So the british launched another 4 torpedoes and he disappeared beneath the waves. After inspection of the wreck however it had been discovered that the torpedoes did no significant damage thanks to the battleship's excellent armor, and that Bismarck had been scuttled by his crew (although it should be noted that many historians believe that it would have eventually sunk due to the damage received). Of the 2200 men that served on it, only 114 survived.
Fun fact; during the annual Sabaton Christmas Cruise in 2019, due to the popularity of the song, the band was given permission by the German government and navy to lay a wreath where the cruise crossed one of Bismarck's routes.

The German plan with the Bismark was to be the flagship of a giant German surface fleet with which to confront the US Navy and prevent US interference in Europe after the imagined defeat of France, the British Empire and the Soviet Union in two seperate wars, each on only one front. The German superbattleships, of which they only managed to complete two, were designed to outgun any US or British battleship. They also intended to build many aircraft carriers, many more superbattleships and pocket battleships, designed to outgun any anyone else's cruisers, operating from Norwegian, British, French and Spanish ports as well as German ports. The famous Stuka divebomber was originally designed to fly from the intended German aircraft carriers. Whether they could have won that naval arms race against the US so as to win control of the Atlantic Ocean is anyone's guess, although they would have been starting from way behind.

Not only that but the torpedoes were also some of the slowest and weakest, which meant actually hitting the steering and damaging it enough was nothing more than a stroke of unbelievable luck. Because otherwise the Bismarck would have made it into safer territory and then the cost to taking her out would have been exponentially higher. Not that it would have changed the course of the war or anything but still.

Great video! Love the sabaton journey.
Night Witches is a great song, about the all women Russian bomber pilots
The Price of a Mile is one that goes over ww1, how many people died for an inch of land.
Winged Hussars is great, about the Polish Calvary saving the day.

Now that you have reacted to Sabaton, Chicago Reacts, I notice that you love awesome visuals and stunning colors.
Well, I now feel it is time to introduce you to a symphonic metal band called Nightwish, who has as their lead vocalist, a woman who is, in my opinion, the best living female singer in the world, right now.
The video you should react to is called Ghost Love Score, and it is the most reacted-to video in the internet. It is also a live performance as well.
Here is the video to search for: Ghost Love Score at Wacken, 2013. Look for the official live video.
