    Well passive agressive people and people from the dark triad wouldn’t buy it, instead they will chose something tricky behind your back and fool you around forever, while you keep thinking about them as a “friend”? What do you do with gossiping, eye-rolling behind your back when you catch it from the corner of your eyes...
    What do you do with higher qualities of bullying, like gaslighting, holding back significant information, sabotage, scapegoating, moveing the targets (you are never enough) or anything when you are bullyed indirectly in a depending position from the bullying person? Those are all Bullying cathegory.

    This is so false. Please, people, don’t believe what you hear and read on facebook about education.
    I am a primary school teacher that begun to base my teaching upon evidences. That is: studying what the internacional scientific comunity has proved the best in education. And one of the points what they invest on, is violence and bullying. We already know the best that we can do to fight violence and bullying. I’m sorry, but I have to tell people how wrong this is and how much this ideas damage education and all the effort of real experts and international scientific comunity that have already proved what really works against violence and why. Spreading this false ideas just hurts education and makes more difficult to spread science and finally fight with success against bullying.
    I’ll tell why this is wrong:
    1: your interaccion is between adults and acting as adults. Kids or teenagers don’t act like that and you can’t ask them to give those answers against bullying.
    2: You just talk about oral bullying. When a bully finds no way to get his goal orally, he goes for physical stuff; and they act really quick. They won’t wait a second to get into action instead of words. So your idea is just useless. Bullying is normally seen, appart from words and laughing, through stealing and/or breaking the victim’s personal stuff, etc. Or talking about the victim to others so that they reject him/her and join his cause against the victim. Please, keep reading and I’ll show you how evidences have proved to really stop any kind of bulling.
    3: You just consider the both of you: bully and victim. You ignored the most important thing: the ones around, the witnesses; which brings me to the next point:
    4: you say the goal of the bully is to feel superior and make you feel angry or annoyed; and that’s why he does what he does. FALSE: The bully’s (and EVERY KID’s) goal is to feel accepted and cool by the others. What’s the problem then? That this society has established as “cool” the kind of agresive people. And here people around takes part: as people see cool agresive and powerful people, bullies do that to make others like him and see him cool. So, as you can see, your idea is false and doesn’t work at all. Bullyes don’t want to hurt you. Hurting you is just a consecuence of their agressiveness to be cool to others.
    I’m gonna put your performance into a real situation: the break of a highscool; the bully calls the victim “stupid” or bad words; and then the victim (as you stupidly suggest), talks back and answers him telling him good things and accepting all the victim says. Possible reactions next? I can think of a billion. For example, like the bully says: “hahaha, look at this pussy, it happens that he even loves me after humiliating him! He wants more!” Of course, this would be followed by laughs and more humiliation by the bully and all people around. The bully gets more of what he wants: he is cool to the rest, he has acceptance.
    5: So, the bully wants to be cool, and not necessary hurt anybody’s feelings. That’s just false. So, the solution is not, of course, talk to him calmly and not feeling hurt. The solution is to take from him what he really wants: acceptance and being cool. And this is why people around is essential to consider. The victim tells him that he is not cool at all and don’t relate with bad people, and then LEAVES, inmediately. Evidences has proved that WE DO NOT HAVE TO TOLERATE ANY KIND OF VIOLENCE. In any way, so you are just pushing people to bulies that hurt them. NO, NO and NO. If any person doesn’t treat us right, WE LEAVE! We do not tolerate violence or illtreatment. EVER. What do evidences proved then that we can do?
    Let’s put the situation again: The bully, in front of others (‘cause it almost always happens with witnesses), insults the victim. The best to do for the victim, based upon evidences and proves, is to say “your behaviour is just wrong and nobody likes people like that”, AND GOES AWAY, not waiting to any answer or reaction.
    . The ideal is that the adults responsible in that moment would work with those kids on zero tolerance agains violence’s. Normally, schools that use this actions use particular sentences; depending on the age of the students. For example: “your behavior is not cool, I won’t talk to you!” This way, they reject the violent behavior and everybody joins the victim and say the same: “this was not cool! You change or we won’t want you”. And then everybody leaves with the victim; leaving the bully alone. This way the bully loses what he wants. Everybody wants to be accepted, so he will really change to feel they want him again. He would be wanted just when he proves he changed. (it doesn’t work if you don’t give time for him to really prove it. One hour or one morning is not enough. Everybody can behave one day and keep the same violence the next day because everybody forgot the deal: we won’t accept bad behaviours against anybody. So it is essential to really acomplish that deal and compromise.
    In case any adult educated well those kids, then at least the victim, answering as the evidences say, he will not need to stand bad words or toxic interactions. He would say “I don’t deal with bad people. Nobody likes someone like that. Bye.” AND GOES AWAY. No need to hear stupid words or toxic people.
    Finally, I’d like to say that I invented NOTHING. This is not an idea, is a proof. This is what the best evidences in the history of humanity has proved that works best.
    ZERO TOLERANCE AGAINST VIOLENCE. Violence is not cool and nobody loves bad people that illtreat others. Put this in your heads, guys. No tolerance, and protect the victim. Always. If you don’t side the victim, you are part of the bully. Simple as that.

    • @sergiomirallesclemente9861
      @sergiomirallesclemente9861 6 лет назад +1

      Oh, I forgot: if we want to deal with bullying, the key is make good kids atractive instead of violent ones like we do. We can use easy sentences like: "wow, you were so kind to your partner! You're so cool. I wish I had a friend like you when I was a kid."
      Think of the coolest guys on movies or shows: they are all the violent ones. Society made this atraction. Atraction has been proved to be created socially, not individually as inner taste. This is the key. Let's make good and kind kids atractive.

      Sergio Miralles Clemente, thank you for your work as an educator. I appreciate your concern for young people that are suffering and your desire to share the best information.
      The Peace Sign Approach, which I teach is based on best practices in the education and psychology fields including social and emotional learning, resilience education, cognitive behavioral therapy, and rational emotive behavioral therapy. I’m not sure what evidence or research supports your theory/claims are related to. What you are sharing seems to contradict best practices and comes from an old school of thought.
      For example, the Department of Education has recommended that schools remove zero-tolerance policies in regards to bullying as they have been proven to increase bullying behaviors and increase hostility. Several studies have been done to prove this also. What evidence and research are you referring to?
      It should be noted that when I speak of “bullying”, I mean someone who is trying to cause subjective harm by hurting someone’s feelings. You are 100% that we should not tolerate behavior that causes objective harm like physical assault and battery, vandalism/destruction of property, and stealing. The word “bullying” is abstract and causes mass confusion. My guess is that this caused a misunderstanding with my teaching. That piece of my message was not included in this video. I prefer to use the terms "social aggression" or "dominance behavior to more clearly define bullying.
      Social aggression has one goal... to dominate. You will be unable to help a victim of bullying if you do not view it as dominance behavior. The very definition of bullying, created in 1970, and the root of all teaching, law, and policy today defines it as an “imbalance of power”. The goal is not purely acceptance, as you suggest, but dominance. Many people that want acceptance behave like friends, not enemies.
      The best thing we can do to help victims of bullying is to empower them with skills. That’s my secret and the reason why 90% of students are able to stop mean be behavior after one week of using the approach that I teach. Encouraging bystanders to intervene hasn’t proven to be effective despite all of the money spent on these programs. Research teaches us that only 10% of students will stand up. Your comment on making kind behavior attractive is excellent. We must acknowledge the good if we want to produce more of it.
      I urge you to research some of the great thinkers in this field like Albert Ellis, Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Izzy Kalman, Jesus, Dr. James Lehman, Brooks Gibbs, and even the work I have released. I trust that it will truly help you as you serve students. Again, thank you. You have the greatest and yet most under-appreciated vocation. If there’s anything I can do to help you, shoot me a line.

      Jeff Veley You base bullying ideas on Martin, your own book...? For bullying? Are they the greatest scientifics in social science and education? Have they published anyhing about violence, learning or education in any scientic magazine of impact? Do you have an official report aproved and published by scientist magazines telling the dates where you ideas have been proved to give the best in the world? Becasue the studies I base on my beliefe, they do; they have official amd scientic data of all the results: for example, one of the studies I reffer to is by the European Comision; VI European Framework, INCLUD-ED project. The project about Education of more impact in human history. With the best universities on the world (and only the best) and proved all over different countries and different social situations (diferent economy level, diferent cultures, etc.) Go and check INCLUD-ED project; or SEAS4ALL project too (which gathers the same). Go check Giroux, Barbara Rogoff, Vygotsky, Paulo Freire, Ramón Flecha, Bathkin, Sandra Racionero, García Rocío Carrión...

    • @sergiomirallesclemente9861
      @sergiomirallesclemente9861 6 лет назад +1

      The studies I say, they have data on how they have changed not only students amd schools, but transformed whole neighborhoods. Yes: inluding the people around is essential. It has been proved. The problem with this is that not every people apply well and really involve othets the way evidences say. It is easy to just try "a little" and say: it doesn't work. The greatest experts have tried EVERYTHING the best way possible; includimg what you say. And it is gathered THE BEST in those studies. And that is the best: rejecting any violence.
      And I understood bullying not only as a physical thing, I talked about emotional stuff, verbaly, blackmailing, messing up, laughing at, etc. Yes, I reffered to that too.
