Parents can be bullies to their kids. Author/speaker Brooks Gibbs teaches students how to respond to mean parents. Using the response: "I love you to much to argue" and "I will be happy to speak with you when you are calm and kind". This will disarm the parent and empower the youth.
Thats great advice Brooks. Tough to swallow - but the right answer.
I talk to my mother as calm as possible when she argues but it only makes her angrier, if I said that to her she would see it as talking back and smack me

Brooks, what if kid doesn't love its dad (rather hate)? Kid would lie and probably dad would not believe it is true and he can think that kid is making fun of him. Don't you think it can have some really bad scenarios ?
