THANKS for all the captions!!!! So surprised to see so much in bloom in FEB in the UK - even way out there. Wonderful video! Hope to finally visit this OCT (from Oregon USA)
Beautiful gardens, will have to try and visit sometime. Great descriptions and mannerisms 😁 making for very enjoyable viewing! Look forward to seeing the March update
Beautiful gardens! Here in New Zealand I tried growing a Kaka Beak years ago, but it was decimated by snails before it grew very big. Will have to try again - it's lovely!! 😊
Thanks for watching. That's a shame about the snails but it certainly is worth trying again, it's a fantastic shrub. They have been flowering here for some 6 months now
Thank you! There are next to no Rhododendrons in the garden but you will find some along the Abbey Drive. It is not because the soils are alkali (the islands actually have a granite bedrock leading to slightly acidic pH) but rather due to the relatively low rainfall and poor sandy soils over most of the garden. Tresco island does have a large and slightly problematic population of the invasive R. ponticum
1:50 the white ngutu kākā (kaka beak) is not a cultivar. There is a red one and a white one. The white one got brought back from extinction when someone grew a pack of old seeds and they came out white

It’s well worth it if you can find the time. Lots of things in bloom still in October!

Just subscribed. Thank you for showing this absolutely splendid garden in Febuary. Wow
Thank you for watching and subscribing. It means a lot that people are enjoying the videos.
Excellent tour! Something I've wondered about this garden...do they grow any rhododendrons, or is the soil too calcareous?

Well corrected. Variety or form would be a more suitable term
