Next time, keep those spotted bass for the frying pan. I am speaking of the ones found in established smallmouth fisheries. Hey, not being critical; I feel the same way you do about them when it comes to their detrimental effect as an invasive species. On lakes where they are established, I have no issue with them. I do not like to see them introduced to a lake that is a smallmouth fishery originally. 😢 Good luck out there.
They're not native to Nantahala. Some idiot introduced them. They'll outcompete the smallmouth until there's none left. Same thing happened to Lake Chatuge.
