As much as I admire the work you've done on this project, I marvel at the fact that you get so much done while having a full time job. Makes me feel like a slacker. Happy Birthday.

    Happy Birthday in advance, youngster.
I'm glad you said what you said about this car and the progress level.
It will be done when you decide it's does, since it's up to you.
Just don't make the 32 wait too long. Birthdays happen quickly. ;)

Mike - Happy Birthday for Sunday. 🎂
Don't beat yourself up about working on the 2 door Sedan. Once sold - a whole new set of horizons will come into view.
You'll have funds 💰to buy parts for your current vehicles or to acquire an new project, tools, spares, etc. Plus, you'll have more space in the shop. That's a whole lot of upsides after you've sold the Sedan, as every cloud has a silver lining. 😎👍👍

Happy Birthday Mike. You are going to give someone a great platform to build a very nice hot rod with. Great job on this build! All the Best.

Saw on the internet the beads off a welder can travel up to 17 feet. Don't want to get one down an intake. I welded right next to my sporty case, not thinking (newbie mistake). Now I'll have to use some of that seal/paint stuff on the inside if I ever run it. Or if somebody else dose. :) Love your channel btw. You've got a good thing happening there from the looks of it.

Suggestion: when you drill out the boxing plates for the trans mount. Drill them big enough to put a sleeve thru the frame. This will prevent compressing the frame sides when you tighten the bolts.

Thank you so much. It went really smooth. Even the sand blasting went smooth. So that’s a huge help, I’m happy I chose to box the frame. I was fighting inner turmoil earlier knowing it needed to be done and chosing at the time to not do it.
This is how it should be done and that makes me happy.
Thank you for the kind words.
Thank you for the B day wishes also.

Mike, just my opinion but I think a frame looks finished when it’s boxed. I no some purists don’t care for it. But it’s strong and safe now with the engine of choice. Nice work again.

Hey Mike, Thanks for taking us on this ride. $11k sounds reasonable for all that! What would you estimate it would take, money wise to put it on the street from where you sell it?
By the feel of the comments there are many of us who are getting a look at this whole process for the first time. Although out hearts have Hot Rod through and through, are brains don't know how it all happens. Just like life! Thanks for sharing your frustrations as well. I am happier when I chart my own path. I to often hop off on side streets. It's my fault, need to stay A to B for my own good.
I'm interested your frame table. A quick what you do with it, how you set it up would be appreciated.
    Thanks again Mike

    • @ThisOldHotrod
      @ThisOldHotrod  Год назад +2

Thank you for the kind words first off. Thank you.
In regards to the cost to get the car on the streets. Realistically I’d say parts alone $1,000.00-$1500.00
Driveshaft / basic exhaust / harness / fuel line brake assembly and lines. Windshield glass gauges and some other small items.
Time frame will depend on skill and actually available time to work on the car. Probably a month or two of picking away at it would get it driving and stopping
It’s really not a ton of time or money for the average mechanically inclined car guy or gal.
      But that’s my assumption.
Everyone will have a different opinion and I’m probably forgetting some things.

    • @ThisOldHotrod

Access holes for what ? There’s 10-15 on the outside of the frame as it is.
If thw next person wants to drill holes in the plates they certainly can. I have no need to at this time. 👍🏼
