During the mid 90s, this online game was my dad‘s obsession outside of hunting and fishing. And then one evening my mom said, “Let’s make a baby,“ just to get his ass off the computer. Nine months later I was born, 29th of January 1995. So I kinda my existence to Doom
Interesting Multi-player deathmatch in the early days of FPS how times really evolved to what multi-player is today and all thanks to Doom and Quake...
Yes, he was an army guy who refused to kill civillians (even killed his commander with one punch for ordering it), thus sending him to Phobos as punishment
the devs had huge balls that's for sure. not only they made a decent game in 2 megabytes, doesnt use any GPU at all, but it also had a decent multiplayer that old computers could run!! the sound library wasn't dev's own but that doesn't matter
I was curious to know how mulitplayer looked like for DOOM as it's not available on the console portings but I didn't know I was in for some good laughs, the opponent's helplessness was quite something ahahahah. Anyway the gameplay seems fun as expected, tho with slightly more populated maps like 4 - 6 players it would work best imo.
Damn bruh. It's a shame you have to download source ports like Zandronum to play multiplayer now. Looks like your on vanilla. However you managed I applaud you.
When I was a kid (middle school/High school) my rich friend would play this online with a guy. You had to dial each other on the modem (one would have to dial the other). My friend would always be the one to dial and it was long distance. His phone bill shot through the roof, yelling ensued. The kid was spoiled and was like "i don't care. It's so fun i'm doing it anyway". 300 dollar a month phone bill (in today's money it would be like a 500-600 dollar bill). His dad was pissed. HAHA
Size seems best suited to 3 or 4 players. Also needs some tweaking with powerup placement: more than 1 soulsphere, or maybe a plasma rifle pickup on the opposite side. Otherwise not a bad map. I can see why Doom 1 maps tended to be smaller overall, aside from the hardware limitations.
The time Green spent camping the Soulsphere, Grey could have ignored it and went for the rockets, but instead liked to rush with the chainsaw for 0 damage????

Foreal quake was def fun also
*What if really, this is actually just what Doomguy did before the demon invasion as a marine? It’s him fighting an enemy force.*
Doom: The Prequel
Could this be Doom's prologue or something?
Doom of Duty

It could be Doomguy training with other Doomguys.
The speed at which everyone moves is crazy
you never realize how fast you're actually moving until you see someone else moving at your speed
Took so long for players to find each other...
Map is too big.
That builds the anxiety even more its perfect.
Anxiety, footsteps & frags
By the time the opponent started using the chainsaw, I started feeling sorry for him...

The OG that started it all
Tall about sphere-camping !

Multiplayer just got added to the new port.

Not really that hard to get deathmatch on vanilla
@@PS-cf9lc Agreed. I played a LOT on IPX LAN. The biggest problem was to get some Ethernet cards to work sometimes.

the maps were made for the single player game since multiplayer was originally a mod for doom,
@@DontStealMyNoEffortName that's not necessarily true, Petersen and Romero often mention playtesting Deathmatch on every map quite a bit.

hey wasn't this clip used in that netflix docuseries in the DOOM and Star Fox episode?
I love it 💖💯🔥☠️👏i wanna see more vidz like these thank you if possible!!!
is this choco?
does the imps song actually sound like that in the game, not the ones seen in platforms like youtube, when it comes to its full version?
thats the original song: ruclips.net/video/dQw4w9WgXcQ/видео.htmlsi=ja_MzyIbgaq3PKrA
@@MisterXaus030 thanks man (sarcasm), I already found the version of the song played in the vid.

Wish they had different sprites for different weapons and an assault rifle weapon
Looks like amateur hour
Maybe they are just having fun?
You don't have to be good at a game to enjoy it, just saying. Why are you talking shit?
