Any concern that sitting silently and playing chess doesn't qualify as "good content" can be assuaged by the fact that we got a game like that out of it. Excellent stuff!
Who won? I woke just woke up. I'd argue nobody.
@@ItIsYouAreNotYour I'd invite you to watch the video to find out who won. If you're saying it's the video that put you to sleep I'd invite you again to watch the video.
@@negative_b Yeah, I watched it. Unfortunately, nobody won from this video in the end. Just Ben.
@@ItIsYouAreNotYour You've gone from thinking nobody won to at least realizing that Ben won. You're developing a better understanding of chess by the minute! At this rate eventually you'll be able to appreciate the game in this video, I'm sure. Congrats, and keep up the good work. Everyone is proud of you.
@@negative_b Thanks Dad, still nobody else won except Ben. I can watch all the great players play chess right on their website. Also, I'll receive the same appreciation of getting no thoughts.
The sighs of relief when the situation resolved was telling. That must have been intense.
Yeah. Eric just posted his stream on YT and as I recall his heartrate went over 120 once Ben started fighting back, then hit like 143 once he realized he screwed it up.
great game, hopefully we'll also get the analysis on another video
yes analysis for these games will be entertaining
That's one of the most intense games I've seen in a very long time
This is my favorite Ben video ever. I was on the edge of my seat for the whole video. What an absolutely sensational game.
Jesus Christ what a finish, that defense was incredible
divinely inspired ! We saw a true miracle here today.
Wow that was an intense match!
What I found interesting about this game was:
1) how safe Ben played. He moved his king so many times.
2) How he used his castle pawns to attack after moving his king into the corner
3) The ending was just an insane example of how black can defend and make a perfect comeback
Eric threw the game hard at the end. He could have easily traded down to being up 2 pawns.
Hes always telling us: in the opening move your pieces out and castle, but hes moving his pawns up and moving his king all the time
@@Keneo1 Gotta know the rules so you know when to break them. That said, I think Ben was getting beaten pretty bad and was lucky Eric choked
I'm pretty sure Ben was losing from basically move 8 or so. Luckily, Ben has a lot of experience being in a losing position, so beat Eric based on experience.
@@12jswilson Lol. Ben had him right where he wanted him!
For a game that was mostly silent calculation I sure was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
Thanks Ben. I choked on my coffee and spat it out in a laughing fit after hearing the "move your leg to the left" joke.
Go Eric, GO BEN! wait I'm confused
Confusing the audience
But stay there
But you were already confused before you came here to watch! ☝🧐😀
WHAT A GAME!!! That was really entertaining!! I really enjoyed that!
26:29 for the glorious and inspiring Ben Finegold fist pump.
This _is_ great youtube content. I was on the edge of my seat for this one. Great game!
I like how ben follows his opening guidelines of move you pieces out and dont run your king up the board but castle in the opening, except for one thing…
“The opening doesn’t matter” -Ben Finegold
what an intense game, and incredibly entertaining. I loved the super-duper manual castling, gotta love efficiency. Can't wait for the next round!
I was watching near the end and was like: if Rosen loses this it would be the worst loss from him I've ever seen
Gordamn! You were taken to school for Most of the Game. All the more amazing how you wheezled out of that sh*t Position. Kudos
that was so intense. amazing fight/swindle/defense from ben.
Still theory.
Stay here, Ben! But go. Great game, pins and needles.
Goddangggg that was intense Go Ben!!
That time scramble at the end... wowza, the eval bar shot way over to your favor after Eric's rook retreat.
Nice comeback, Ben. Looked pretty bleak there!
What a tense game! GG
Dude that was one of the best games I’ve ever seen.. what a comeback
Just amazing defence for so long … and then a killer fast attack! Quite brilliant 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That was intense! Thanks!
AWESOME! The one I watched yesterday was great, too. This one I pulled my board out and set it up when he was attacking with the rook, knight, and queen to see what I would do while pausing the video. When you finally withstood his offense and put your queen on the diagonal from his rook, he moved his king off the row and you took his rook! I noticed you pulled your fist down as if to say: "Yeah!!"
Thumbs up!
When Ben finally castled somehow and he proceeded with moving all of the pawns in front of his King
I thought that looked pretty dire the whole way. What a comeback!
Very enjoyable. Thank you Ben.
26:31 says it all
I like the ten min vs the bullet.
Lol @ the reaction to CLSmith after 3:15 . Chat being their usual 200 IQ selves, including TryingtoLearn
As much as I love Ben"s commentary, some of his best content is just playing. I think it encourages me to think about what I would play in the wild positions he gets himself into
This was a really fun game it reminds me of the first game between Marshall and Lasker
Impressive comeback, I guess Eric didn't let himself have enough time for the last moves.
That final was epic! I wish I had an uncle like Ben! 😂😂
Would've been interesting to see a heart rate monitor hooked up to Ben at the end of this one!
And blood pressure.
Good game. I enjoyed watching that. Thanks and thumbs up.
Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.
Do not underestimate one who has grown old in a profession where men die young.
😂
I hate this pretentious bs in chess. Chess in general is definitely enjoyed by many old people... perhaps not on the top level but this goes for any sport. If you were talking about boxing, i'd understand.
Chess is comparable to mathematics in that the older you get the less great work you do, most chess players will hit a peak in their late 20s to early thirties then decline slowly. You can name exceptions, Mikhail Tal or Paul Erdős but in general age does play a significant part.
what the hell did I witness! :)))
that was an epic game!!
Suspense from move one, wow. Go Ben!
Great win!
Now that was a Fine Bengold performance
One of the nicest chess streamers. And Eric is not bad either.
There should be more of these .
Go Ben! That first game was amazing
Go Ben! nice win, way to hang in there
wow that was amazing
what a game. the expletives after winning lol
great game! amazing defense
Hell of a game!
Whose move is it
How intense was dat. Ben being quiet feel like fait of the world in on da line
I have never seen such a tense game and I was shivering. I would have cracked much much earlier. It would be good to get an anlysis of this game
Twice I went to unpause this video to find it was still running. 😂
Great defense
Wow, what a game! Incredible... Ben must really have nerves of steel 😲👍
Spectacular.
Got my very own "Rawr" T-shirt "GO BEN"
go Ben
Now this is the match we wanna see OTB ASAP
that was insane! Go Ben!
Winner plays F3/F6 next game depending on the color!
that was sick master, good job doggie
I love how through most of the video the chat (and even mods) are just calling each other out for either suggesting moves or asking if there’s a certain way they can suggest a move😂. They just wouldn’t let it go lmao
I noticed that too. It was quite entertaining! I think it all started because someone said Ke7!, but it was after Ben made that move, so I guess the guy was mad that he got muted since he wasn’t actually suggesting moves.
@@matthewkoveleski9131 Yeah lmao not gonna lie it was hilarious. You had the guys who were suggesting moves, people complaining about suggesting moves, and the rest were trying to kiss Ben’s ass and calling each other out😂 I don’t know why when people are in chat every brain cell leaves them until the end of stream😂
I'm watching this for the first time saying to myself, "Eric is going to kick himself when he loses this game."
Insane defense
AMAZING!! well done BEN
Good grief! Way to go Mr. Finegold!!!
I always thought that Rosen had a book in him on early game traps
I enjoyed the brown noise throughout.
Good job Ben
Usually your videos enable subtitles for the hard of hearing like myself? I got maybe one in five words.
haha the enemy was at the gates! fun game
GO BEN !!!!!
WELL DONE BEN!!
Ben how did knight dematerialized. It was there one moment next it was gone!
If Eric Rosen were a shape he'd be a trapezoid. All those tactics then GM Ben Finegold finishes the game like he's playing 9 ball. What kind of fruit does a geometry grow? That's bananas! Go Ben!
He played such a beautiful game then threw it all away. Tragic. Great defense though.
Thanks for the game! Was so enjoyable! I thought white was winning till I don't really what happened!
THIS IS CHESS BABYYY!!! GOOD JOB BEN!
Good job!
Go Ben! Stayed relatively cool all the while Rosen put on the pressure
Never heard him so quiet
CRAZY
Go ben
"Beginner" tactics like pawns on a7 and b6 would have prevented a lot of heartache here. I make the enemy pieces die taking pawns not pieces.
My god! Game 1 good content
Bishop f8, defending the pawn, but not defending the pawn at all its an illusion rook takes pawn woah. Amazin 😂
Masterclass in defence
That was intense
Accidentally paused, didn't notice until 15 minutes after.
I feel like Eric absolutely THREW committing that hard to the tactical aggressive line with the rook attack when there were pretty direct ways to just pick up more pawns on the right side of the board and then just convert to a winning end game. Ben's decision to just concede the pawn when Eric called the bluff and realized that he couldn't actually trade off everything because it would be a winning end game for Eric, such a mature play by Ben just letting the pawn go, admitting he was wrong, and just calculating further
Honestly I loved the silent match. It helped so much conceptualizing what's going on without commentary
That second pawn tactic was great from both sides. Eric for spotting the tactic and opportunity and Ben for defending the way he did.
What an endgame!
Please analyze that one!
