A DSO show is, truthfully speaking, more entertaining than seeing any of the remaining members. Not a slight to the original members. It's just that time catches up to everyone, and the energy of youth is required to give something life again.
I never made it to a Dead Show. I was in Santa Cruz, CA right after Jerry died. There was a really live Dead Scene when I was in college there. I dropped college to make glass pipes.

My first Dead show in Portland 74 my kids and I danced to many including these guys, Further, & New Riders of the Purple Sage!
