So sad to see what the stroke 1 year ago did to Nicko. But he's doing great despite having a stroke and being almost 72 years old. Long live Nicko McBrain!
Can hear the improvement since the summer tour. He's obviously been working hard after his stroke, so good to see. Long live Nicko, onwards and upwards
Honestly i don't see any upgrade... Trooper still anemic and Run to the hills is more like "Walk to the hills" with a SIMPLE hi-hat pattern.... weird from Nicko !!!! My IDOL since 1985 !!!!! Haaeeyyttt !!!!
@@KillerKojak Wow, hes leading a 100+ orchsetra, keeping great time, hitting the key parts and all while recovering and you use words like "anemic " and "Simple" . You are seriously talking about your so called idol like that with out a word of empathy - SHAME
The arrangements were all adjusted for the orchestra and choir and Nicko ever the pro reigned in all the chances we drummers take with our bands and kept it tight , powerful and on point . The vast improvements in his right side can be seen since last summer where he still kicked serious butt by the way , months after his stroke . Absolutely wonderful to seem him fast approaching his 100% ready for his North American and Australasian shows later this year , ON YOU GO BIG MAN , love you Nicko ❤
@@KillerKojakagree with you (sadly) 100 %. I understand that we all like to see Nicko performing like before the stroke, but we know deep inside (its called denial) that it will never happen i'm afraid...Lets appreciate what a legend of a drummer he is, and listen to his incredible beats in IM 👍
I was fortunate enough to be there . Amazing concert as usual. Arguably some of the best in the world , a real honour. Long live the band of his majesty's royal marines
Great performance by Nicko. Always done with passion and commitment to his art. My Dad was a boot Nick (Royal Marine) and I have served in the Royal Navy for 35. Years so seeing my favourite bands drummer and the best military band in the world perform together is a moving experience
Have a friend that he sends cymbals too. Uses them once and off they go. Dude is an amazing artist and human being. How cool is that. To be at this level and to be this down to earth
I love Nicko! It's very difficult to recover fully. Especially at his age, bless him. An absolute legend he is, to power through and keep giving as much as he can. Cheers to the most handsome lad in the band.
It was the drum corps that made me want to play as a kid. So happy to see Nico looking so well. Never thought I'd ever see something like this but HELL....Awesome .... Rock on
Impressive performance of both Nico McBrain and the Marines. I wish I sat amongst the audience and listened to the performance. Unbelievable how good influence Iron Maiden has done with both the fans and every person who loves to play an instrument. Pure magic.

Et moi, des billets pour Santiago le 28 novembre. Je suis Français et si c'est la dernière fois que je le vois jouer, ce sera dans une ambiance sud américaine chaude !!!
Nicko is unfortunately not able to do the descending toms fills, that's kinda sad. (or he readapted his playing to fit this event) But it is what it is, he had a vascular accident and still giving his best. Eternal respect and hails to him, long live Nicko!

Yeah, unfortunately propably never recovers for the 100%
Whilst that is possibly true, this is also a very different rendition of all the songs so it wouldn't surprise me if he toned it down a bit on purpose.
I met Nico when I was 17 in 1981 and he was with the French rock band Trust playing in Huddersfield to about 50 people . I got one of his sticks after they played and it said ' Nico McBrain ' on it . That's why I spelt it that way in my first sentence . He couldn't really speak English back then , but seemed a really nice guy .
really really sad to see him out of shape but he still has it. it is never easy to come back from a stroke that paralyzed your left side completely and perform an iron maiden song live on the stage with orchestra. thumbs up. cheers nicko.

Sitting at home watching this, I almost started to applaud at the end of Wasted Years. The intro to Run to the Hills was superb. It's intriguing that the lyrics of a decidedly anti-imperialist song were amended, but not troublesome: I don't think it should be offensive in the context used, highlighting the atrocities carried out, but if it is, then it's an easy change.
Respect to EVERY musician on that stage, but MAD RESPECT for the two guys on guitar. Well done.
I agree. Covering famous songs is one thing, but performing them will one of the musicians who helped created the song is another ordeal
I had the fortune of bumping into Nicko in the corridor outside before the show and gave him a fist bump. Legend.
did he smell?
