I actually saw an ariel musical that was staged at a movie theatre, that was converted into theatre long ago, and they used ropes to make the main characters literally flying in mid-air and the whole stage whicj was square and big generally looked like a big aquarium.

This is a perfect actress for Ursula. Plus size and with an attitude, cause in the movie Ursula was a plus sized woman and she flaunted it like she didn’t care about her weight nor even cared if someone called fat, cause she knew what she had and showed it off like the queen she was.

I guess a meatier story was needed to put TLM on stage, but for me the movie was enough of a story. I really enjoy this actress as Ursula though. She really did kill it. I don’t understand really belting out “pathetic” at the beginning of the song. Isn’t that supposed to be more of an aside to Flotsam and Jetsam? Ursula sings it kind of under her breath in the film. It’s not really for Ariel to hear. It kind of undercuts the the line itself to really emphasize it so much, IMO. The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie, and my favorite childhood movie, so if I saw this in its entirety I’d probably spend days picking it apart LOL. It really was fun to watch.
