China and Vietnam are both communist countries. Why do more western investors go to Vietnam than to Indonesia/Philippines/Malaysia/Thailand? Are they really moving away from the dictatorial Chinese government? Vietnam is a communist country, one party and clearly dictatorial. Do they expect Vietnam to become a democratic country because of demands from the WTO or the business community? Vietnam currently has wages below Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, when Vietnam's wages rise, they will leave Vietnam and go to Bangladesh/Pakistan or India.

The US started a financial war with China under Biden, and power politics is also another factor here. The US will go after any country they see as a threat to their domination. Is a great depression (as occurred in the occidental world in the 30's) can happen in China? They are so many companies moving their money outside of China to build new factories outside of China, will not create a huge surplus of production capacity in China that will lead to a great depression at least in China?
