    Please note that the propagation of a custom domain may take up to a couple of hours.

    I have freenom. You cannot use the @ for host, just leave it blank. The TXT code in the video is not the one you need. They skipped the step to get it. Just click next till it appears ( I don't remember the exact sequence). Be careful in your cut and paste of everything. I tried it several times until I re-selected and copied all the adresses in the final step. They all looked correct but I just kep trying when they failed. I can confirm when you get to the end it works great.

    My Domain-Hoster (Selfhost) explained _NOT_ to include the @ sign for the type. So I left the field empty and every entry has now a checkmark in the tutanota domain-backend. Hope that helps

      Thanks for your feedback. It looks like different hosters handle this differently, your comment will probably be helpful to many.

      You would open Tuta (and follow what he says). At the same time, you need to login to where you purchased your domain. Once you’re in, you would look for DNS records. And that’s where the code from Tuta would go.

    Do we have to wait a significant amount of time after adding the TXT record? Hitting next after entering the record for my domain just results in an error, "The vailidation of your domain failed". I'm using Namecheap if that matters any.
    EDIT. It did take time, but then it didn't let me go further saying "You have to set up an email alias or a user for the custom domain before proceeding."
    EDIT to my edit. Looks like they changed the checkbox to a + . Something to note for anyone else doing this in the future.

    • @TutaPrivacy
      @TutaPrivacy  Год назад

      Yes, you can add as many domains as you like. In Premium 5 alias addresses are already included so you can create one address for each. Alternatively you can switch to a larger alias package or simply activate catch-all.

    • @TutaPrivacy
      @TutaPrivacy  3 месяца назад

      If your verification fails, please make sure that all entries are correctly added to your DNS settings menu with your domain provider. If they continue to fail, please contact our support team for direct assistance. Depending on your domain provider there can be small differences in syntax required for these records.

      @@TutaPrivacy None of that was the problem. The problem was I entered my domain name with WWW. Once I removed that, everything worked. Would have been nice if that was made clear at the fill box. Or was clarified somewhere in support documentation.
