    For those concerned about sizing, .. I take a EUR 42 or size 8 UK in a sneaker, also in SMX Plus and Sidi ST's and these Supertech in EUR 42 also fit excellently and are very comfy. I was worried about people saying these wear big, buy the next size down, well its not true for me.

      it's because you probably have really wide feet. Smx plus v2 feel perfect in size 42 for me, but the supertech R in 42 feel absolutely huge, my feet are just swimming in there.

    -SIZING: Ignore when he says "reference the sizing chart". The Alpinestars boot chart is junk; don't even look at it. The A* chart says 47 is a US 12...NO! Just figure out what euro size you typically are and they should fit similar. For reference; if you wear 13 US shoes, D width, a 46 is a snug race fit and 47 is a bit loose and comfy, same as Dainese.
    -SHIN PROTECTION: seems to be a bit lower profile at the peak.
    -VENTING: Even though they're asking for more airflow with the standard version; as he mentioned, there is a vented version. The newest vented actually has perforation in the back to help get the air out, which the old version did not. The standard version is better for cold weather. If it's cool enough that you're wearing non-perf leathers and not sweating then you probably also want the non vent boots.
    -ZIPPER: Not sure if it's mentioned, but A* improved the bellows on the zipper so it stretches more and hopefully has better zipper life.

    Go down a size if you’ve never had them, but stick to your alpinestars size if you have, the size chart puts me in a 45 and after talking with some other dealers I went with a 44 and they are a glove.

    Great job Brandon and Revzilla - finally, somebody that tells you how to correctly get your right size in Alpinestars by MEASURING YOUR FOOT. Every other retailer out there tells you to go by what you wear in other US sized shoes (which are off) and that Alpinestars' sizing is off when in fact THEY ARE NOT. Their sizing is based on your MEASURED FOOT, nowhere in their sizing instructions do they tell you to chose your size based on some random shoe that you own. I wear a US size 12 all day long and have my whole adult life, but my foot actually measures 11.5 inches from the back of my heel to the tip of my big toe and I'm a 46 euro all day long in every boot which Alpinestars says is 11.5. MEASURE YOUR FOOT and reference the chart like Brandon says and you will get the correct size.

    • @mkviz
      @mkviz 3 года назад

      Maybe you can clarify this because the Astars chart seems confusing. So what does it mean when it says "SHOE INSIDE LENGTH" < measure length of your foot < "COMFORT SIZE" you will have the correct shoe size to order. Does that mean that if your foot size falls inbetween the shoe inside length and comfort size?

    • @gmoney4337
      @gmoney4337 3 года назад +1

      @@mkviz ignore the Astars chart that's on the Astars website, it's garbage - I think it's incorrect, I could not get a size using that chart. Simply measure your foot from the back of your heel to the tip of your big toe along the inside (the big toe side) of your foot - use that measurement (in inches) and get the corresponding Astar US size. So for example, even though I wear a 12US all day long my foot actually measures 11.5 inches, so I went with the size 46EU in Astars which converts to an 11.5US according to their sizing - the boot fits perfectly. If you're in between sizes then get the size that's closest to your measured foot (in inches) and go from there - keep in mind that you may have to try a size up and a size down before you can determine which is the better fit.

    what's true to size about them? Smx plus v2 size 42 fits like a glove (pun intended), and these bad boys in 42 feel absolutely huge. They're for people with really wide feet.

    Are you sure they fit true to size? The last Supertech boots I had to go down 2 sized from what I normally wear, I normally wear 43 is every other boot/shoe, but Supertechs even a 42 was way too big, I had to go down to a 41.

      Ignore when he says "reference the sizing chart". The Alpinestars chart is junk; don't even look at it. Just buy whatever size worked for you in the last Supertech you had, sound like 41 for you...

    Why came since this boots not new colors out you know that? I wait since more then one year that finally a black/red came out but since this boots came out alpinstars have not produce new models also all boots almost out of stock since long time.I need size 41 and wait really long but i can't find that is very strange.Usually all new saison came new colors out,but this year nothing.

    • @RevZilla

      We can't really speak towards Alpinestars and their color choices/launches, but we would imagine the delays have to do with the global pandemic and how its impacted factories/brands. We expect more to come from Astars once the world returns back to normal.

      @@RevZilla Thanks for the answer.
      But what does the pandemic have to do with it? Plastic and leather are not in short supply.
      In addition, new gp tech v2 gloves have also come out and other new gloves, so I don't understand why they are not reproduced supertech r boots.
      I've been waiting for almost a year, but nothing really comes of it,really sad.there are still a few supertech r boots but i don't want to just buy any color who doesn't fit with my leather suit color and spend so much money and then later buy again if came finally a nice color.🤷

      @RevZilla  2 года назад +1

      @@El_turco82 Again, we can't speak for Alpinestars so your questions are best asked to them - but from what we have heard it has nothing to do with materials being in short supplies but factories/assembly time being the tricky part. Might be worth emailing Astars directly though and see if they can hunt one down for you.

    Is this “too” uncomfortable for street riding and off the bike for a few hours at a time?
    I would ignore any size reputation for any manufacturer as they vary so much between models. Just try it on to confirm.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  2 года назад +1

      This is not a boot you would want to wear off the bike and walking around. Its built and meant for track/days and racing/canyon riding. If you want something better for walking around in but with similar features, either the SMX Plus v2 or the SMX 6 v2 should be your options

    • @hisride
      @hisride 2 года назад +2

      I disagree with the revzilla comment, I bought these boots (ventilated if you care abt details) and tested their comfort by walking for about an hour in them through my streets. They feel pretty much like normal shoes. They wrap around your foot literally like they are hugging them, almost like slippers haha. I also have the smx 6 v2 for commuting and although yes they are more... relaxed - I wouldn't say more comfortable but the fit is less snug and 'intense' - there is no real difference between them. The only thing I would say abt the STRs is that because of the inner bootie, at times there is a bit of clunking and feeling like you are damaging them, but that is just the nature of a boot within a boot. hope this helps anyone

    • @grumpysquid
      @grumpysquid 2 года назад

      I have tried on all boots mentioned and have concluded that the SMX plus was what I needed for comfort and protection levels. The Supers were not as comfy for off the bike walking around

    • @hisride
      @hisride 2 года назад +2

      @@grumpysquid good choice. supertechs are not reeaally a casual boot as its a bit of an occasion getting them on but lets be honest, they look cooler and feel like you're getting more tactility out of them. Thats why they are my weekend 'fancy' boot and why I could but probably wouldn't commute on them. my point is they are nowhere near as uncomfortable or bad off the bike in my experience as other people make them out to be. For me at least I could totally have a journey off the bike in them

  • @aaronlee0203

    it be nice and cool if you have an option to just buy outer shells.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  2 года назад

      Sadly Alpinestars does not sell just the outer shell as an option as they only make enough to match the inner bootie from the factory. Usually, once the outer layers are compromised, the boot should be replaced entirely to avoid any unseen issues with the structural integrity with the inner bootie.

    • @MrSamelcamel
      @MrSamelcamel Год назад

      My guess would be a 44. I wear a size 11 and the 45 fits well width wise. The toe might be about 1/4" to 1/2" too long maybe? I'm able to fit in a 44, but there is only about 1/2" of space in the toe. They feel like they're very tight just in front of my ankles on the outsides of my feet. Also they are very straight so my big toe feels kind of pressed up against the side. I may go back to the 45.
