This came about because Jon worked with Pete Brock in the old days.Shelby issued two sets of chassis numbers. Sadly Jon passed away before the car was complete. I was privileged to visit with Jon during the build. The car was completed and shipped to the US A. Jon also built the Wilson’s Daytona’s back in the day. He suffered burns with the famous Daytona pit fire.

You add the paint, drivetrain and other modifications and surprises that come up it’s easily a $50k car when show ready. Not saying that’s bad but let’s be honest. I wonder if they hold their value when completed? I imagine you can at least break even after it’s done and years of ownership. I’m looking to get one just as a hobby. Not looking to make money but I could see doing it. Then selling it 5 years later for a new project. If I could get what I put in back that would be a hard yes for me then.

I love F5 cars. They're the best of both worlds. If I had the money to go to Barrett Jackson and buy a real Daytona/AC427/GT40, ETC... I would buy it THEN buy a F5 variant and make it look identical to the real one I owned. That way I could drive it like a normal car and not worry about messing anything up on the real one.

It's absolutely beautiful. I can't believe you can buy this chassis for that price. That's ridiculous.

You can’t. Finished like the car shown will run you close to $50k.
