A Play for Today was on BBC TV and ran from 1970 until 1984? It produced some of the greatest standalone TV dramas ever made as well as introduced some of the best directors and writers. Three boxsets are available on Blu Ray
You might like one at the end of the list, Young Hyacinth. It's a prequel to Keeping Up Appearances, starring Russell Howard's little sister, who plays the role beautifully! I do recommend Upstart Crow, the sitcom about Shakespeare, full of hilarious anachronisms, and it also crosses over with series 2 of Blackadder (even though they were made nearly 40 years apart!).
I did not love Young Hyacinth, but I think it was only because I wanted there to be more. Should have been a full series. Jon must have edited my reaction out of the video haha.
The only Titsmarsh I know is the marsh tit (Poecile palustris) a passerine bird in the tit family Paridae and genus Poecile, closely related to the willow, Père David's and Songar tits. It is small bird, around 12 cm (4.7 in) long and weighing 12 g (0.42 oz), with a black crown and nape, pale cheeks, brown back and greyish-brown wings and tail.
13:30 The best Tommy & Tuppence book in my opinion is "Partners in Crime" which unfortunately they used as the title for the TV series but took nothing else from it. It's Agatha Christie paying homage to all the detective writers who inspired her by doing pastiches of their styles, and it led to me looking up all these now-forgotten writers and getting into their books too!
I think the only one I've read is "By the Pricking of my Thumbs." I remember it involved an old house, and a house I'd pass on my way to my parents' house from law school reminded me of the one described in the book, but I can't remember anything else about it lol.
Holby City is basically a spin-off from Casualty. Casualty is basically the ER for you Americans and I think Holby City is about the other non ER parts of the hospital. My mum loves it!!! It's all very different to ER was though (or Grey's Anatomy). Made me laugh with your Titsmarsh, Titchmarsh!!! Was expecting you to says Tits-Pervert though, like Bridget Jones did!!!
Definitely some great shows on your to watch list. I love All Creatures Great and Small. Inspector Morse is my favourite crime series. Quite gritty, and wonderfully acted and filmed. Only Fools is arguably our most loved comedy. David Jason is also in Open All Hours (on BritBox) which I find hilarious. If you like Mr. Bean I imagine you’d like The Thin Blue Line too. Very underrated comedy from the 90s with Rowan Atkinson imo.
If u like the crime shows you should definitely watch Morse, Prime Suspect (Helen Mirren is as always, great to watch)...And you would probably enjoy Scott and Bailey....
'Mum' is a really good little series. I really want to watch it again but can't be bothered to buy britbox when it'll probably be back on the BBC at some point. It was written by the same guy as 'Him & Her' also a great show but I don't know if it's on britbox
I guess the reason that you don't get the same Britbox that we do it's because it is bought by Netflix or Amazon and they have the rights. Can't you just install a VPN and get around this? Only just found your channel and subscribed as you made me laugh. I'm intrigued as to who John is though if he's over here and you're over there, ignore me I'm just being nosey!!! Maybe all will be explained in other videos.
Jon is my fiance, who lives in West Berks. He has lots of videos about our relationship over on his channel, LoveJonLovell. I would definitely love to watch Upstart Crow. David Mitchell is amazing.
I'm so jealous that UK Britbox has way more content than US Britbox. Except for Spitting Image. Y'all can keep that one.

MI5 is called Spooks in the UK
And I would highly recommend watching Shetland, fantastic cop show
Awesome, I will definitely add it to the list.
David Mitchell presents Outsiders which is Taskmaster outside basically

I'm 98% certain I mentioned that show with David Mitchell - but you know me! I'm happy to just watch shows with you! XOXOX
I think David and Victoria Coren Mitchell should both compete on the same season of Taskmaster!
I would recommend Nuts In May, in the Play For Today series. Simmering British frustration at its best. Imagine Basil Fawltey going camping!⛺😄
OMGosh that sounds hilarious!
Upstart Crow is wonderful.
You're missing out not having seen Only Fools And Horses. Voted most popular comedy series for years.
I think you'd like Jonathan Creek and Cadfael.

I haven't seen Inspector Morse, but I do like the prequel series Endeavour. Love the actor who plays a young Morse.

Holby donated a state of the art ventilator!
You want to watch Coronation street or Emmerdale more than Eatenders more happy people.
