Quixel Trees

  • I wanted to do a quick test of the new trees that Quixel released. I'm impressed!! This scene has 500 Quixel trees in it along with 64000 pieces of Quixel's Wild Grass scans. (Won't be a big deal in Unreal 5, but I thought this was great for Unreal 4 and the frame rate stayed high with all that geo in there) The terrain and scattering was setup in Houdini and brought into Unreal using the Houdini Engine plug-in.
    The Metahuman in this scene has a modified head created with the 'Mesh Morpher' plugin. I used the body from the Paragon character Gideon and altered the Metahuman's face to match the original Gideon head shape. Facial animation was done with the iPhone Live Link tool.
